Are there any offsite hotels near Epcot?

there are no offsite hotels/resorts within walking distance to any of the WDW parks.

the closest offsite to Epcot is Bonnett Creek.

one of the cheapest (but definitely not walking distance) and closest is Quality Inn West

www.choicehotels.com

use to also recommend best western lakeside - but it got some bad reviews.

for walking distance to Epcot - there is BWV standard view studio - that goes for 9 points so $90 to $108 a night for Sun-thurs in the offseason - Sept, Jan, Oct, some of Nov and dec.

thanks spiceycat!

Not sure how to get the points to rent these rooms. I have only been to disney twice but we really enjoyed epcot the most. That is why I was hoping to get a room that I could walk. The busses were cumbersom and the wait was long.

Is parking free at BWV?
How do you get these points? Do you have to become a timeshare member?

Both Swan and Dolphin are within walking distance. At first you may not consider them cheap but sometimes they have good deals. You do pay for parking. If you are a teacher or work for a school district they give special rates sometimes. Don't rule them out without checking them.

parking is free at BWV and you get free parking at the parks because you are a WDW resort guest.

go to the DVC rental/trade board here and ask there. first read the FAQ at the top of the page FIRST.

Good grief! Is it really that cheap? Never done DVC before, but that's definitely worth looking into.

if you rent from a member and use the dis boards.

that is between $9 and $12 a point - which is the going rate here.

other boards are more expensive. - also must be standard view!!!

the preferred view is much higher.

dolphin and swan are really close too.

you can get the best rates from the sponsor here.

http://www.dreamsunlimitedtravel.com/resorts/SwanandDolphin/swananddolphinmainpage.htm

these are onsite resorts but not owned by disney. so you have to pay for parking. but still you get WDW transportation and EMH.

you don't get DME or DDP (if you want it)

I tried both Dolphin and Swan for the first two weeks of Nov and Dec and neither was available. Is something crazy going on at disney those weeks? I thought those were suppost to be slow times???

at epcot - it is the food/wine festavial - try the 3rd week of Nov

in dec - the christmas stuff is everywhere - it is a wonderful time to be there.

the first weekend in dec - is the taping of the christmas show - avoid - unless you enjoy BIG CROWDS.

you might try Pop Century (yea no walking to Epcot) - but it is a nice hotel and fairly reasonable.

WOW! I just got back from this board. I am more confused than ever -- Anyway it looks like you have to book at least 12 months ahead. I can't wait 12 months for mickey. :sad1:

So I guess I am back to looking at hotels.:sad2:

depends - can you go next March - or do you want to go right now?

right now - would suggest Pop Century.

yeah, the cheap BWV rooms go fast, so you'd need to find an owner at BWV to book the reservation 11 months in advance.

here are some threads you can read to learn more about renting if you want to give it a shot next time:

OK, tongue firmly planted in cheek! DO NOT rent DVC points -- that's how we started, filling in a few dates from the Marriott on Hotel BLVD. (Does anyone else remember the $20.0x rates?) Now if you look at my signature, you'll see I own DVC at not one, but two resorts :confused3

And CRO is renting studios for around $169 a night at Saratoga and Old Key West, not Epcot but a great experience.

Are there any budget friendly off-site hotels near Epcot? Like within walking distance?

no. Is there a reason you need to be within walking distance? I assume you will not have a car?

What about a hotel with shuttle? Renting a car? Taxi?

How long is your trip?

We are driving so we will have a car. I just did not want to blow all the money I saved, by driving not flying, on a $200-$300 hotel.

Also I thought if we have to walk a mile across the parking lot to our car and then drive around to the other side of the park to our hotel why not just walk to the park. We are going in December so the weather should be GREAT and we love to be outside and go for walks plus is is better for the enviroment.

So no real reason. We just LOVE Epcot and know we will spend a great deal of time there.

To safely walk you would have to be staying at the Swan/Dolphin, Boardwalk, Yacht/Beach Club. Disney doesn't have sidewalks on most of their roads, so while both Caribbean Beach and Pop Century are close to Epcot, it is not possible to walk to the theme park. And with parking lot trams, you're not really a mile away :)

hey you need to own at least 3 - mind OKW, VWL and BWV....

anyway would go with Pop Century - it is a value so as cheap as WDW gets - and it may have rooms - look at all the value - 3 all stars - music, movie and sports -

from Pop at night you can see the higher fireworks from Epcot.
