We are going to be there Wed.night until Sunday morning starting April 6th. I Know nothing about Universal at all. Ask me about Disney World and I can TALK THE TALK. LOL I would love suggestions or hearing about places you really enjoy. THANKS :)

At Portofino Bay , we love Mama Dellas for table service and Sals marketplace for quick service..We eat at both every trip
At IOA we always eat at Mythos
At Citywalk we love Margaritaville and Cowfish

Jake's Bar, Orchids Sushi at RPR.

Sal's for Pizza at PBH.

Citywalk is Margaritaville and Cowfish.

Studios is Louie's, Simpsons food court and Ben & Jerry's.

IOA we always eat at Confisco Grill and Mythos.

As big Harry Potter fans, definitely those restaurants. We liked the Leaky Cauldron more than 3 Broomsticks but both good.

Sal's at PBR, margaritaville (although they couldn't figure out how to properly cook Mac's burger.) Cowfish is good too. Jakes at RPR...big portions and good prices. I also enjoy finnigans at US. Good food, atmosphere and service. Most of the choices at USO blow Disney food away. I've done several TS restaurants at Disney and have not been impressed, especially for what they charge. Just my .02
Keep in mind the majority of the time I'm paying for 5 to 8 people at each meal. That can really add up! Might have a slightly different perspective on price vs value than people paying for only two or three. Have a great trip and maybe we will cross paths, OP. We check in the day after you.

We really like Finnigans and the the Simpson's food court area is fun and has a ton of options. We also like Mythos and Confisco Grill and of course the 2 HP restaurants are super fun and pretty good.

Cowfish, Antojitos, Hard Rock Cafe, Margaritaville, Simpson's food court and Emeril's are our "must do" restaurants.

i have favorites at different times.

if it is hot out and i want something filling but still light, i go to Blondies for a sandwich and potato salad.
Boulangerie ditto when it is hot out.
Both make fresh sandwiches.

M' vile a hit or miss for me
Medium rare is not charred well done which only took two tries for it to happen for a basic sandwich
Yes pcstang was with me on that one

Hard rock serves its purpose for me in the burger department.

Finnegans a stand by for some of the menu items I truly enjoy there.

Simpsons food area is a favorite anytime due to various selections of food types.

Used to be a fan of fire eaters grill and confiisco grill, depends on the menu doesn't change
Croissant moon also lovely

City walk places are good and I hit the menus to determine which one to hit

Hotel eateries leads me to the Kitchen at hrh
At rpr, I always hit islands dining room, Jakes and Bula Bar

I do repeats for some places as I'm onsite 14 days

Cowfish and Sa'ls are both on our must do again list & I don't know that we have ever been to Universal without hitting Margaritaville at least once.

I'll throw Emeril's Tchoup Chop at Royal Pacific into the mix. Beautiful restaurant, we loved our meal, but check the menu before you go - it may not appeal to everyone's tastes.

I walked past it for 2 years and finally stopped at the Bumblebee Taco truck. I waited 15 minutes in the August sun and it was worth it.

Sal's at PBR. We stayed there for a quick 3 1/2 day trip in January and ate there 2x. We usually do a big family dinner at Bubba Gump but for our next trip, it will be replaced with Sal's. We also enjoy Breadbox in City Walk.

Bob Marleys on Citywalk as Jamaican places are not that common.
Butter beer also for the same reason. We like hard rock but its not required for every trip.

Lots of good suggestions here. If you want a more high-end, romantic meal, you can't beat Bice at Portofino. Best Italian at Uni or WDW (and one of the best in the area).

In all four of our trips, we always try to hit the following: Antojitos Authentic in Citywalk was amazing (live entertainment and great food); also Margaritaville; Panda Express for something quick and delicious; BOTH restaurants in the Harry Potter lands -- we've done breakfast, lunch and dinner at them and the food it great; Cafe LaBamba (love the chicken) in Universal; Louie's Italian Restaurant in New York Section; Jakes at Royal Pacific; Island Dining Room for breakfast buffet at Royal Pacific.

it used to be a don't miss for us, unfortuantely not fans of new menu at all. Jakes is now our go-to for in-house dining there...nice they have entertainment on certain evenings.

Mythos has never disappointed us, big fan of the risotto.

If we are joining those who must-do Margarittaville, usually pick the fried chicken, pretzels not too shabby when washed down with something cold.

Have a love-hate relationship w/Finnegans. It's all about the location/convenience factor re special events there for us, otherwise wouldn't bother. Fan of Irish pubs, finnegans clicks all the boxes but inconsistent food quality imo. Wish they'd tweak the menu and throw some new offerings on it (ala Raglan Road). When they are busy it's an adventure as to food being prepared properly (under cooked/greasy, etc). Surprised we had some of the best food there in years during Mardi Gras beginning of March. Perhaps they have gotten it together in the kitchen!:)
