but SO didn't like???

One of my favorite names was Desiree, but don't think dw would of went along with it...

Kelly should have been Katie. :( That was MY choice, overrided by dh.

my DS10 doesn't have a middle name because me and my now EX-DH couldn't agree on a name... i wanted MIchael... but "I" already named him Christopher (after my mother Christine) and my dads name is Michael and that was just pushing it for him.....

my DD11 was "almost" Victoria Elizabeth.... that's a mouth full.... but i just knew that people would try to shorten it to "Vickie Liz".
eeeewww!!! so now i have an Autumn (hummph... try to shorten that one!)

"Celia" would have been "Naomi", but it was vetoed by my DH. He said I got to pick the last two names and he got to pick the first name. Sigh. Her middle name is my last name and her last name is the same as his. Over the years, the name Celia has grown on me :).

I was supposed to be a "Rebecca", but my father wanted me to be a "Roberta". To this day, I like the name "Rebecca" and wanted to spell it as "Rebekka", but my DH's cousin already named her child "Rebekkah", so we couldn't poach on the name. Celia is named after her great-grandmother Cecile.

I wanted Sarah Elizabeth, but was overridden and instead our DD ended up with Elizabeth Ann. Still nice. :D

We have one on the way and I really like Liam. DH was lukewarm about it and had a whole list that he liked better so I had to ditch it. Well, we didn't share our names for the first kid with anyone, but since DH's sister is expecting a few weeks before us (today, maybe :) ) we figured we had better check with them.

Imagine my surprise & DH's glee when they told us they had chosen Liam for a boy! :) :(

If we had a girl DH wanted to name her Mika(pronounced Meeka, like the little girl in the Disney Beach Party video). I quickly named our fish that to avoid the chance.
I liked Hunter for a boy, but DH didnt.

Our DD, Sammi, was supposed to be Emma. I think its such a beautiful name. But, back in 98, everyone including DH kept saying...that's such an old lady's name! So, I gave up after months of trying and we settled on Samantha, which fits her better than Emma would have. Now, it seems like both Emma and Emily are becoming quite popular... .

DH wanted to call our 2nd child Maverick Colt. I told him when he goes to work on the range we could name our baby that, but until then, we'd stick with the more traditional. He ended up being Drew Patrick, but not before DH vetoed my choice, Rex Patrick. He thought Rex would soon become T-Rex, and in hindsight, I sort of agree with him. :p

Kelsea would have been Katie. I was open to what her name would be, Katherine, Kathleen, or Kaitlyn. But I wanted it Katie. My h vetoed that idea.

Kelsea is a mix between Kelly, what my name almost was, and the sea that I love.

I liked Brian and Cora, but am happy with the Andrew Michael and Sarah Elizabeth that we used.

I wanted Katherine called Katie but DH really didn't like that at all so we have a Kristen. But guess what - oldest DS named his second DD Kaitlin so I finally got my Katie!!

Shep listen to your wife, if you name a girl Desiree your just asking for her to ba a stripper

I wanted to name DS Zachary(Zack for short) but DH overruled. We ended up naming him Paul(Jr).

Oh, JTB knows....

A friend, huh?

You know - my kids ask me this all the time...I really can't think of any other name that we might have considered except the one we gave DD - Alyssa Jeanne. Now - when DS came alone DH did not like anything I suggested!! We finally settled on Matthew ...but my sister-in-law beat me to it 3 month earlier. So...DS became Christopher Raymond. Had he been a girl I ws really leaning towards Noelle (his birthday is Dec. 29). Not sure if DH would have gone for that either.

:p

I wanted Kaytlin Breanne or Rhiannon Danielle for our dd. For our ds, wanted the name Luke.

He wanted the name Holly-from the Holly that used to be on the Price is Right. I told him if we had a Christmas baby, he would've had his way.;)

We both loved the name Katie, but one of his cousins and one of my cousins have a dd named Katie.

My husband and I debated for most of my pregnancy between Dakota, Mason, and Nicholas. Three weeks before my due date, DH said tomorrow we have to decide on a name (and pack for the hospital). Three hours later, my water broke while I was sleeping. We had narrowed it down to Nicholas or Mason. My dad thought Dakota Henriksen would be too weird (mixing an Indian name with a Norwegian last name). So after DS was here, we decided to go with Nicholas Parker. Now we are still debating whether to call him Nicky, Nick, or Nicholas. DS is 7 months old.
Of course if we had went with my choice, Mason, we wouldn't have a problem knowing what to call him;)
