I don't think I've ever spotted a positive review for a CS restaurant at DHS..... there must be some place that's decent???:confused3

I don't eat burgers. Where could I go to get a decent CS turkey or grilled chicken sandwich? I'll even settle for a grab & go if it's good quality and not slimy.

Any suggestions at all or should we just plan to eat a large breakfast & opt for a pretzel or something later? We don't want to do a TS for lunch that day and are planning on 50's Prime Time for dinner.

Thanks!

We did not like the food from the ABC commissary, it was terrible. The hot dog stands are good and the pizza and salad from Pizza Planet isnt that bad..not the greatest but not the worst either

I personally like Pizza Planet and Backlot Express. My mom and sister ate at Studio Catering Co and liked it a lot.

You mentioned you like turkey or chicken sandwich... here's some C&Ps from AllEarsNet menus:
Backlot Express:
Grilled Turkey & Cheese with arugula and red peppers served with French fries or carrot sticks $7.09
Studio Catering Co (I guess it's called Flatbread Express now):
Chicken Caesar Wrap $6.69

Other than that, Pizza Planet serves pizza, Backlot Express serves general theme park fare (burgers, chicken fingers, etc)...

Thanks! & any thoughts on these two choices? Is the turkey a decent quality? I don't mean to be difficult, I just get grossed out by slimy or low grade turkey and chicken-to the point where I'll get nauseaus. I've heard really nasty things about the turkey at the Sci-Fi and if it's the same, I'd rather skip it.

Any thoughts about Starring Rolls? I've heard this place has sandwiches.

I just found this place on WDW info menus and it looks like they have a similar menu to DAK's Pizzafari. I loved the hot italian sandwich there, so maybe there is hope??

Anyone eaten at Catalina Eddies? Is it the same stuff as Pizzafari??

Thanks!

Call it different opinions because my family and I enjoy the ABC Commissary and we don't see anything wrong with it.

I agree with PP. Different strokes for different folks. We love LOVE the Commisary. I think their chicken curry is yummy. On another note, I probably wouldn't eat again at Pizza Planet if it was the only place left open. That one was ick for us.

I also recommend the turkey/cheese/arugula/red pepper sandwich at Backlot Express. It's the best CS sandwich at the Studios in my opinion. The turkey is typical deli quality, not slimy grocery store pre-packaged quality. The bread was tasty too, though I can't remember exactly what kind it was. Not plain wheat or white, something heartier.

We haven't found any good CSs at DHS. We do everything we can to avoid eating there. :sad2:

There's your review for this sandwich.

My sister got the Chicken wrap from Studio Catering Co and she liked it. But that's about as much as I can tell you.

Starring Rolls Baery has the best turkey and brie sandwich.

Ooh, this is good to know-I LOVE brie!!

Thank you-that's exactly what I wanted to know-quality of the meat. I get really squeamish and I cannot even tolerate the smell of prepackaged meats :scared: I don't mean to be such a food snob. I was vegetarian for 10 years and now I get really particular about textures of meats.

Thank you everyone!! :)

Here's a (bad) pic of the turkey sandwich from Backlot Express. Wasn't half bad !

Starring Rolls near the front of the park has okay sandwiches. I am not that picky though and it was a couple years ago so I don't remember what I had. But the sandwich hit the spot.

Otherwise, we haven't eaten lunch there either. We ate breakfast at Starring Rolls this past summer. I don't know where we usually go, but we don't eat at DHS. I think we go to MK for lunch most often.

The only one I've ever eaten (and I did enjoy) was Pizza Planet. That seems to get the best reviews here on the DIS too...
:thumbsup2
