Are there any Drum Corps fanatics out there?

I enjoy drum corps contests & our local paper doesn't do anything these days to keep locals informed about the Madison Scouts Drum Corps. Finals, I think, are this week/weekend & I was hoping someone knew which corps made it to the finals & what prelim scores are. TIA!!

The Championships are August 12-14, here in Indy....I think there is a DCI thread over on the Gay & Lesbian board.....

I haven't been to a DCI show in years, but I may just take a day to go check it out this year!

I'm a big fan, though I don't play an instruments. I've been following things pretty closely on Drum Corp Planet forums. You should check it out there. Scouts have been doing great this year, and are really connecting with audiences. We weren't able to see them in person, but have watched several videos on DCI fan network. I'm pretty sure they'll make top 12. I'm also encouraging my son to try out with them this fall!

Oh, I think after the Allentown shows tonight and tomorrow we'll know where everything sits.

Thanks so much, MK2thcleaner, for the tip about Drum Corps Planet. I went to their website & found what I was looking for--scores! I'm glad all corps are doing well. Would love to see a show but sitting on those hard bleachers are more difficult these days.

I wish PBS would go back to televising the finals. I miss the old days...

Thursday night, August 12, the DCI Quarterfinals will be broadcasted at various movie theatres across the country. Check the DCI website for theatres in your area!

Saw both nights of the Southwestern Championships in San Antonio - The Scouts had a great show! Cavaliers' guard was incredible and Carolina Crown's sound was amazing! At least those were my favorites!

Yes, you should check out "Big Loud and Live" in the movie theaters on Thursday. We don't have a theater around us, so back in May we drove 2 1/2 hours to watch "Countdown." It was worth the drive! I think the tix are 18 bucks each for this show, but it's 5 1/2 hours. You can find more information on fathomevents.com. We'd be going if my son didn't have drumline practice that night. Movie theater seats beat rock hard bleachers any day!

I'm rooting for the Bluecoats and the Cavies, but I hate to say that it's nearly already been handed to Blue Devils. Anyway, good luck to all the corps!:thumbsup2
