it says the seating is tiered, but is it still enjoyable for the kids if they are not right next to the tanks???

I think all of the seats except for the very last row are great, some are actually much better than the ones directly on the tank. The very back row usually has the larger groups with booths and I have often seen children standing up on the seats back there to look at the tank. As a party of 4, we always sat pretty close.

We've never had a bad seat, but we definitely ask to be as close to the tank as possible. We love having one of the tables right up next to the glass, and we've gotten one more than half the time we've eaten there.

I think the seats not smashed right up next to the glass are the best, that way you can actually see the fish in the tank and not the ones right in front of your face.

We sat on the 1st tier and it was great, I think most of the tables would offer a good view.

I don't think that there is a bad seat, granted, I've only been there one time so far. (Going to go back pretty soon.)

As others have said, they are tiered, but I don't see any problems, really. I believe that within any tier, (As someone else mentioned, you might have problems in the very back) you should have a fairly good view.

I don't think it could hurt to maybe ask to be closer to the tanks. Like I said, I've only been there the one time with my family.

We have been there severaol times and the last time it ws only dh and myself and we were pretty much on the upper tier. I honestly didnt like it.

With the ds we have had maybe the 2nd tier or 3rd most of the time in the round booths, never a table. Since we were always 5.

I do think a view from the lst or last table on a tier might be a little hard if you would always have to be turning your neck to look at the tank etc.

If you get right up to the tank be ready to handle, um certain guests who think its ok to have their kids run up to look etc. while you are trying to enjoy your meal. We have seen that many times.

Also if you have kids bring something to entertain them while waiting. The wait can be long sometimes even with an adr. Once we actually saw a cm bring out little sea creatures (plastic) and gtive them to the kids in the lobby because they were all getting antsy etc.

Enjoy your meal there.

We ate at Coral Reef once, as a party of 6. We ended up in one of the booths way in the back. Was ok up until the point when a large group from a conference came in and started rearranging tables in front of us, walking around, etc. blocking any view we may have had, not to mention practically standing on top of our table (even bumped into us a few times). The manager apologized profusely after our server brought the situation to her attention, but the experience pretty much soured us on that restaurant. If we ever go back we will make sure to request a table that is not in that section.

I don't think there's a bad seat there. The seats further back get a wider view of the tank. The seats right next to the glass don't get that wide of a view, but then again you're right there, close up. We sat right next to the tank on our last trip, and had an absolutely wonderful time. (There were a few instances of little ones coming up right between the tables up front to get a closer view, but they weren't bothersome.)

Oh, and we asked to sit up front when we checked in for our ADR. We waited a while longer, but it was worth it to us.

I have never eaten there, but I have seen pictures on here. Someone once posted a picture of a couple dining at a table while kids that were not their own standing very closely behind them with their faces plastered on the glass. I would skip the very first row.
