Are the resorts fully open?

Just wondering if the resorts are fully open or just some sections. It seems President week in February is completely booked but we have gone that period many times and usually rooms are available. Maybe staff issues?

It’s been speculated Disney has not been making 100% of their rooms available. Whether this is to keep margins fat by getting full price for what is open or staffing issues we can only speculate.

For instance CSR over Veterans definitely didn’t look fully open for business. Yes all sections appeared operational but one of the bus stops looked practically deserted every time we drove by, don’t recall which one though. Had like 20 cars in the lot and I never saw anyone get on or off there. And the food situation there is still Covidfied. If the hotel was fully operational the company running the food ops at CSR wouldn’t want to keep playing games with limited QS and throttled TS options.

We might get a clearer read on hotel’s actual capacity this week. If you are wondering about specific hotels, ask on their threads here on the DIS.

Fwiw if you want to book but don’t see availability what’s been happening this year is availability tends to start opening 30 days out and can fluctuate wildly from then to the start of your trip. (Packages are due 30 days out and room only reservations free cancellation stops 5 days out.)

I was wondering about this. Looking to book a relatively last-minute trip for the first week of January, and found zero rooms available anywhere.

So if you think there's still a chance that something could open up, I guess I should try back next week?

We are going Dec 16-21st. When I intitially booked our trip there were virtually no rooms...so we booked offsite. About 35 days out tons of rooms started opening up in all categories (even the Skyliner hotels). At one point I had 4 hotel reservations booked because I couldn't decide. Since our trip overlaps with days where all the parks are sold out, I would assume you would see openings for January.

Perfect. Thank you.
