Are the OKW Grand Villas really worth it?

We are planning to go to WDW next Dec. I have 11 month access to reservations at OKW. There are nine of us with my baby daughter. She'll be almost 2 next visit and was wondering, should we go for the GV? We have plenty of points for a 5 night stay there but will have a few left to bank. Is it worth it???

Definitely go for it...8 and a baby is tight in a 2 bedroom, imho. The grand villas are wonderful and if you have the points, do it!

Yes, do it. Call EXACTLY at the 11 month window, call first thing in the morning, and call day by day. You won't be sorry.

ABSOLUTELY! We love the GV's and you will have plenty of people to fill up the space.

LOVED our OKW Grand Villa...perhaps even better than the fact that it had three bedrooms was that we had FOUR bathrooms! And if your two year old gets restless, you can just walk right outside your door and go for a stroll outside...no interior hallways to contend with at OKW, no matter what size unit you are using. Plus, at OKW most of the laundry rooms I have seen are big enough to use as an auxillary bedroom!

Yes, yes, yes, go for it! There is just no comparison between a grande villa and a two bedroom, and I thought a two bedroom was the height of luxury I had 5 girls with me, and only 7 people total, so I originally thought a two bedroom was enough. I can't tell you how nice it was not to have anyone arguing over bathroom usage! The quiet in the morning as the girls spread out among the 4 bathrooms made it worth every point I have!! They are already bemoaning the fact that this time we have to "make do" with a two bedroom villa

I've been scruitinizing the point charts for the last 4 months. The OKW grand villas look like the best deal in DVC. Just wish I had OKW points to have access to them.

Absolutely, yes. They are very luxurious and spacious. Beautifully decorated and just exceptionally wonderful. Worth the splurge once in a while! We've done it 3 times in 13 years and are pondering our next "splurge"! With a larger group it is definitely the way to go if you can swing it!

make sure to request a high chair and baby gate for the stairs.

There ONE problem with an OKW GV....it is very hard to go back to renting 1 or 2 bedrooms!

OMG! They are GRAND alright. Definitely worth it..just prepare yourself to want to always rent one, whether you need the space or not.
