Are the Key West shipwreck museum and aquarium near port?

We would like to see these 2 attractions, and were curious if they were within walking distance of port? We would rather not do an hour long DCL tour if we could just walk to these two spots instead.

Do you know where the ship will be docking in Key West? There are a couple of different options. One is downtown, and the shipwreck museum and aquarium are both right there.

We just found out it is the outer mole dock, looking on their docking site. This is a much different dock than we went into previously. I still have a hat from a tackle shop that was right off where we docked before that is right by these two attractions.

We'll be in Key West via the Magic in December. I think the ship is docking at Outer
Mole and a free shuttle will take us to the downtown Mallory Square area. It all looks very walkable. No need, in my opinion, too book with DCL.

Take a look at this tourist map / brochure.

It's not really within walking distance from there. Although, you could walk it. Nothing in Key West is really that far away. And I believe you must take a shuttle to get out out of the actual docking area (since it's on the Navy grounds).

Here's a map, the aquarium/shipwreck museum are where the star is:

an article I saw said that when they use Mole they provide the tour trains for transport to Mallory Square. If so then you're set bc things are closeby.

Thank you for the quick replies:) we will be doing this one on our own instead of booking through DCL.

The map helped too, once off the dock, it would be a walk of less then a mile, as long as it not blistering hot it should be a very nice walk.

How do we know where we are docking? I'm on the 12/23 magic....

Does this show which pier they are using?

Yes. Next to the ship's name is a letter. M Mallory Square. B Pier B. OM Outer Mole

Time, I think, allows for docking and leaving. Not the passenger times to be ashore.

If you dock Downtown, then yes it is close. My elderly father and my sister (who uses a cane for a back injury) were able to walk and had a great time last year. We are going back in December and they want to go back to the Mel Fisher museum because they had so much fun. I think that me and my mom will go biking again.
