Are the Christmas menus out yet?

We reserved Whispering Canyon for noon Christmas Day. Is that usually a XMAS dinner, or the regular menu or both? Also wondering about the prices etc, and if the DP covers it. TIA.

We will be there on Christmas day also for 5 PM reservations. We have had Christmas dinner there 4 times with last time being in 2005. They serve the traditional Christmas dinner with all the fixings.... no other options. They have turkey and another meat which has varied from ham to salmon. We enjoy it very much. The servers are toned down a bit. The dining plan will cover the cost of the meal, holiday surcharge included.

Wow thanks for the info. Do you know app how this would work? So if we purchase the DP we could use this as one of our sit down or is it a 2 ticket (signature) event. If it is one-do you know app how much of a surcharge there is? Thanks so much.

I take it that you are purchasing the dining plan using DVC points. The Whispering Canyon is just one credit on the DP and all holiday surcharges on meals at WDW restaurants are included in the meal plan (app $4/person) . You will have a most wonderful Christmas dinner as the hotel is so beautiful at Christmas time and the restaurant is just off the main lobby.

Oh no. We have two TS for Christmas day - Yak & Yeti for lunch and Whispering Canyon for dinner. I don't mind one being traditional - BUT I don't need two traditional dinners. It would be nice if there were regular menu items as well. Would like to know too.

I would'nt imagine that Yak and Yeti will offer a traditional Christmas dinner on Christmas Day

I guess so-we are staying on DVC points if that's what you mean-then planning to prepay the DP before arrival. Is that what you mean, or can you trade points for the DP?

Anyway isn't the meal usually like $59 each (looking at least years info)? That would make this a great deal correct?

Make sure that you reserve the meal plan and confirm it a week before you leave. We got there once and they did not have us on the plan. It got corrected. No, you can not use points for the meal plan....the Christmas dinner at Whispering Canyon last time was approx $34.95, which makes the meal plan an excellent deal.

Oh I didn't realise the restaurants change their menus on Christmas day - we are booked at Raglan Road - I wonder if they will?!
