Are the Brazilian Tour Groups Gone?

Sat eating breakfast this morning at 9am in Orchids Lounge in RPR........and a Brazilian tour group were checking in :worried: and there were about 50 queueing up to get Express Passes :( :( :(

Did not expect to see them here at all.

The one thing we have said all trip is at least they don`t have EP. Some of them do now.

We left the Studios today at 12 as they were everywhere.....I mean everywhere. Could not get in to 2 bathrooms as they had taken them over.

Just hope they don`t take over the hotel tonight as we fancied a pool night :confused3

if that happens, contact a manager and it will be taken care of quickly.
the hotels would take care of any issues faster than those in charge inside the parks.

maybe there are more adults in the groups that were checking into the onsite hotel.
Loews requires the one that books be 21 or over.

Please give us an update later and tell us how they are :(

will they be still there 18th august onwards???? been around this time before and did'nt see too many groups but a lot of individual brazilians majority of which were very rude and obnoxious, had several run ins with them trying to join lines because friends were already near front, never gave way without a struggle though:rolleyes1

You're right, I sure as heck wouldn't let them pass....now if you're towing a little who had to potty by all means head back up with your family....

I think the groups are gone by that late in the summer...you should be good to go.

Well, don`t know where they are as it is just a normal family crowd by the pool. Lobby area is quiet too. I had heard reports from someone at another hotel that they take over the lobby for the free wifi....but that`s not happening here thank goodness. I do think management here wouldn`t stand for their kind of behaviour.

We went out earlier so don`t know about then but from 10 they are nowhere to be seen :thumbsup2

We were here last 2 weeks in August last year and never saw one group. It was a great time to visit especially the second week of the two :thumbsup2

Ridiculous time at BB today. I have never been to WDW during the high season for the tour groups and it has really overwhelmed me. I had heard about them, but always thought people were being hyperbolic, NOPE! In all my trips to WDW, I've had people cut in line or cause problems in line maybe twice? Today at BB every single line we got in, there was a problem. My head was about to detach from my body and swivel 360 degrees. :furious:

A few of them round pool last night, not very many, about 6 maybe and no trouble at all. Bit boisterous for a while then calmed down. I did however see one Brazilian girl in a tour teeshirt at the ice cream bar ask the girl serving us quite rudely for "Time".....I leaned over and asked if she meant Time PLEASE.........said she didn`t understand.......this was after asking for some paper to wipe her arm in perfect English..........The woman behind me said they needed a lesson in manners she was sick of them.

But to be fair we haven`t seen any bad behaviour at all. In fact apart from that one, if we hadn`t seen them check in we would never have known they were there.

Brazilian school holidays range from june to july and from december to february.
And for all brazilians the Orlando trip is a "dream come true".

I can say that the real problem with the Brazilian groups are their Guide, they always say: "if you say: 'excuse me'" you can go and join someone on the line.

Other problem are websites like groupon that sells packages to wdw and univesal every day with big discounts... that's why it´s so crowded on summer.

I´ll go with my wife and little daughter on late august to skip the big groups.

I haven't been to the parks much the past couple weeks, but any time I have been, there's been a lot of groups. The worst has been at the Disney water parks where the pathways are much more narrow. For the most part they aren't rude or anything, but they definitely add to an already busy/hot time of year.

we had plenty of problems with them last time, jumping lines, ramming into us because i could'nt get out of way quick enough as i'm on sticks and cant walk quick, the worst was when we stayed at magic kingdom for fireworks, we were waiting at bus stop for hotel along with other americans, british etc, all in a orderly line then as bus arrived they came from nowhere about 20 of them straight to the door even though the driver was getting a wheelchair bound person on first, we were all fuming as they basiclly stood on the lift getting the wheelchair in to make sure they would get on first, driver made them get off but despite our efforts most got on first, we had to stand and not one of them asked if i wanted to sit, many who stood in line got left behind, :crazy2:

We just returned from a 2 week trip and the tour groups were EVERYWHERE! The Florida Mall...there! The Premium Outlets...there! Busch Gardens, Aquatica, Sea World and of course...Disney and Universal! We just kept trying to either walk quickly and get ahead of the groups or just walk the other way to avoid them. They just throw their backpacks, like 50 of them, all over the walkways and along the paths to avoid locker fees. I was surprised to see them fill in all around us at our 8:05 Crystal Palace ADR. My photos from there have blue shirts all through the background.

Some of the people in the tour groups buy the express passes. Just about everyday we were there we some inline in front of IOA buying them at the EP cart.

One day my DS and I were going on Hulk and there was about 15 of them right behind us going into the express line. We walked all the way in till we stopped just below the EP/ Regular line merge. Right when we stopped they were pushing by and saying excuse me. I told them we are all in the express line and this is where is starts. They proceeded to say they have friends waiting ahead at the top. I said I don't care who's waiting for you. They got pissed and kept trying as we moved to the merge with the TM. The couple in front of us said were not going to let them by either. Then they see the rest of the group above them and they start yelling in their language. They are all waving the come on up hand signals.

Well we stuck our ground and did not let them by. I did get some dirty looks and they probably were talking about us in their language. We finally made it up to the other group waiting and I just smiled and walked by.:)

The whole time we were there for 9 days over July 4 th they were everywhere. They are very rude, don't know how to respect your space, pushing, leaning, and right on top of you.

This is the first year that it was a real turn off about being there. Oh and the chanting in line too. Then all the confusion when the TM tries to direct them to rows on the rides. They would just go where they feel like it. What a cluster you know what.:sad2:

OMG, I felt very bad reading this topic!
I'm brazilian, but not a part of the big tour groups! Actually, last time I visited Orlando with my family, a small boy found a brazilian coin in Soarin' line and asked his mom where was it from. My brother replied and said it was brazilian, and they started to talk... His mother asked me "So, could you please explain me what is going on there? All the brazilians are here!!"...LOL! And I said the same thing the other guy said up here, that people now have more money here, and the travel agencies are offering some really unexpensive options for people to finally get to know Disney World.
Also, nowadays the us dollar - brazilian real parity is not so good for us, since we have 1 us dollar - 2 reais. A few months ago it was 1 us dollar - 1,70 real, so you guys can expect less brazilians in the next months.
The crowds should be gone after August 15th... But some of us have a week off in school during October. Our summer holliday starts in December, so the crowds will probably be bigger during this month and January.
Here's a funny fact, when I was young, about 5 (I'm 22), and we happened to meet some brazilians at the parks, my parents were always happy, because they don't speak english very well, so, it was a nice opportunity to chat and make friends. The last time I visited Orlando, about a year and half ago, every time we started to hear people speaking portuguese, my dad said: "let's get out of here NOW"... LOL! He really doesn't like the big groups, and actually said that we are only going back when my brother finishes school, because then we can try to schedule our trip for other months, like... May? April? Never been to the parks during these months, but I have the feeling that it is less crowded than January, when we're normally at the Parks!
I guess I just wanted to say that not all the brazilians are impolite! Some of us are just normal people, visiting the World with our small family!:wave2:

This is the first time i've heard about these groups, I figured there would be groups/tours but this big lol.

Around what times do they go to universal/disney?
Would Late May/Early June be a problem?

I don't have a problem with Brazilians, just the tour groups. They go wherever they want on rides and act like they're the owners of the park
