Are the boards slow...

for you, or is it just me.

I'm about ready to give up on the DIS. It takes forever for things to load, and I often just give up and go on my merry way.

So is it just me (did someone put me on Tachy go to Coventry????) or what?

I have slow loading once in awhile, its random, like the server is tapped out, this happens at my home, office and on my Blackberry, so its not location specific.

For the past week or so it's taken about 20-30 seconds for me to be able to load different pages. Today it seems to be fine.

In addition to the loading speed time issue, is anyone else having problems with the times that are shown when posts and comments are made?

For example: If I post a comment at 5:30pm the time that shows on the post won't say it was left at 5:30. It'll say a time that anywhere from 30-70 minutes earlier. At first I thought it was a time zone issue, but then realized the times being displayed were too wonky for it to be a time zone issue.

It's not a big deal, but I've been wondering why this happens.

Yes, I just noticed (because of your question) and I posted at 7:03 am and the post shows 6:11 (or something like that). So clearly the post times are off.

Not sure, eh?

This morning the boards seem to be better...

It's only the DIS that I have this trouble with consistently.

Make sure you clear your cookies regularlly - that will slow it down a lot, since the computer has to go through all of them before it loads the page. If you are unsure how to do this - pm me.

Thanks, Padalyn! I clear cookies almost daily, but definitely multiple times per week. It's the DIS that gives me these problems and no other site (well, other than one horrendously vile work related site).

I asked about that post time display some months ago over in the Tech forum. Dan Murphy and MaryJo (the tech mod) said the DIS has been off for almost 2 years.

And yes, sometimes I too have a long wait to load a page and post, makes me wanna add just a few more choice words.
