Do any of the DVC resorts have adjoining studios? I want to get a 2 bedroom but with the points I have to work with my choides are extremely limited and I need to book 7 month...so I was wondering if I can't get the 2 bedroom si there any place I can book 2 studios and request adajoining rooms?
Thanks

you can request adjoining rooms - but don't count on them.

bwv, okw, akv - think that is all? not sure.

a DVC 2BR villa is made up of a 1BR plus a studio. studios only connect to 1BRs...never another studio.

some studios are physically beside another studio ("adjoining") but the entrances may be some distance apart...and as spiceycat says, it's a request and not a guarantee.

If you do book two studios, the adults in your party will have to split up because the children won't be allowed to stay alone in a studio unless they are at least 18.

We requested adjoining rooms for a stay at caribbean beach some years ago, but they were not connected (with a door) just next for to each other. Maybe this is a canadian thing, where we have adjoining rooms, but at disney i think they call them adjacent, but not necessarily connected.

for a DVCstudio, they will never be connected and i am not sure if they will be adjacent, you would have to look at some floor plans where you are staying.

The Inn rooms at VB do connect, but there are no connecting Studios at any DVC resort. There are some adjacent Studios at OKW, but they do not connect to each other - only to a 1BR to make a 2BR lockoff villa.

Just to clarify terminology, in Disney reservation-speak, adjoining means next-door, or nearby. In practice, it often works out to 'as near as possible', which could mean next-door, across the hall, down the hall, etc. So yes, you can request adjoining studios, and they will get them as close as possible.

But, I think you're asking about what Disney calls connecting rooms - two rooms, next door to one another, with an internal connecting door between the rooms.

If that's the case, then no, there are no connecting studios at any WDW DVC resort.

My son and I were right next to each other at BCV for our October F & W.

That's completely dependent on who does the room assigning. Some people have discovered that their requested "close to each other" rooms were on different floors of the resort or different OKW buildings. Requests are simply requests and may or may not get met.

Thanks..Lynne is correct in the fact my terminology was wrong...I guess I mean connecting..if someone else is seeing something I'm not..my situation is my friends have 156 points we can use (we've been renitng points from them the past few years). I honestly thought we wouldn't go to Disney this year and go somewhere different but DS just discovered he LOVES Disney Villains and wants to go to Disney again this year to go to the Villain store in DHS, trade pins and vinylmations (other newly found interests) etc. So Looks like we'll be going.

There's 4 total - me, DH, DS and my sister. We've been renting 2 bedroms as we can be together, but my sister can still have her privacy. And to tell you the turth we've gotten spoiled with the extra room, washer & dryer, whirl pool tub, etc.

We're planning on a 5 night stay leaving Aug. 26. The only 2 bedroom I can see that we can get with the 156 points we have to work with is AK value. We can also get 2 bedroom BWV standard for 4 nights, but let's face it, we want the 5 nights. The 7 month mark is Jan 26. So right now my only choice is to ask my friend to try to book AK for us at the 7 month mark and pray, hope, cross my fingers we get it. If not, I'm trying to figure out another way to use the points. Yes we can get a 1 bedroom, but that means adults sleeping on pull out sofa couches and DS sharing king bes with me and DH or pull out sofa with my sister. And all of us sharing 1 bathroom. Of course it's doable, but not preferred. Or we can try to get 2 studios, but run the risk of them not being near eachother which means my son (who is now 5) will be trying to run thru the halls to go from room to room.

Sorry to go on and on...but maybe someone can see another option that I'm missing. I know my firends can try to get more points from anoterh DVC member (can't think of the exactr term right now), but I aprreciate them letting us rent their points and don't want to cause them any extra work.

Thanks for listening and explaining.. I guess for now I'll for Jan 26 and see what I get...who knows, it may just all work out.

my husband and I and the kids were directly across the hall from eachother in jambo value studios! We had the perfect savannah view too!!(my husband across the hall had the parking lot view.. :thumbsup2)

Just FYI I think that the 1 Bedrooms at AKV (all except the value ones) also have sleeper chairs in the living room in addition to the sleep sofas so that the units technically sleep 5 people between 3 "beds" and a std. 1 bedroom would likely use less points than a value 2 bedroom. Also, I "think" that if you're at Kidani Village rather than in Jambo House there would also be 2 bathrooms in a 1 bedroom villa.:thumbsup2 Someone will probably chime in & correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure that's the case...but so that could be another option maybe for you to consider.

Thanks for the info Annie...I am not over familiar with AK villas...from what I've been reading they do sound bigger than the other DVC villas...guess I'll do some more research to find out exactly what each AK villa includes..they're just might be a one bedroom for us if the 2 bedroom doesn't come through. Any suggested links to check out for all I need to know about AK villas?

Thanks
