Are the 2-credit TS restaurants worth it?

I will be using the Dining Plan for the first time this fall, and have made several ADRs. But the more I read, the more I see that the restaurants I was really excited to try may or may not be any good. So should I just use twice the credits and eat at the places that people rave about, and plan to pay OOP for some extra CS meals, or what? :confused3

Please tell me the TS restaurants that definitely are worth 2 credits.

Thanks!

We're doing Cindy's RT breakfast and it is worth it to us. You get a photo pack (which was $36 on our last trip, I bought it) and kiddos get a wand or a sword. Definitely the neatest place to eat in the Kingdom, so if you have a princess, I'd go!

California Grill on top of the Contemporary Resort. We ate there in 2001, and it would be definitely be worth 2 TS (assuming that it is the same). We had ADRs for 45 minutes before the fireworks (it was January, and the fireworks were early, around 6 or 7 - I can't remember), and we watched the fireworks over Cinderella Castle. The food, service, and setting were fantastic!

Oh! About the service - the waitperson brought our food about 5 minutes before the fireworks. During the fireworks, the lights are dimmed and, if you aren't near a window, you can get up and get a better look. When our waitperson realized the fireworks were about to start, he took our food back and brought fresh plates when the fireworks were over.

We are planning to do only one restaurant that counts as 2 credit TS in the dining plan. It seems like if you did many more, you might be paying a lot out of pocket - just my take (from what I have gathered in researching, not actual experience). (It might work if you shared meals.) I was actually worried about eating 6 times at TS restaurants for a 6 night stay (since 6 nights is only 5 full days).

As the other poster stated, Cinderella's RT, for the experience, seems like it would be worth it. This is the 2 credit TS meal that we are doing because we have 2 daughters. If it were just me and DH, I would skip it and go to California Grill again!

What are your expectations. I think that with the dining plan, there isn't a meal I've ever had at WDW that wasn't worth $30 for an entree, app, dessert and beverage (that's $39 - $7 for your TS meal and $2 for your snack). (We don't do the dining plan, but the meals are worth $30). It hasn't all been spectacular gourmet foodie food, but its been a decent value - especially when you consider you are sitting in a theme park. Where the food hasn't been good (Sci Fi, character meals) there has been something else worth it - atmosphere, characters.

But, the signature experiences have (with the exception of Narcoossees) been foodie meals. Flying Fish is definately worth two credits - its a year and I'm still dreaming about the snapper.

We eat at the singnature restaurants often. Our favorites are Flying Fish and Yachtsman Steakhouse. Here's what I posted about Flying Fish on another thread.

We have been to Flying Fish 5, maybe 6 times and have had wonderful dining experiences there. On our last trip in June, we enjoyed it so much, we cancelled an ADR somewhere else to return for a second meal.

Where shall I start? The restaurant is beautiful! The fabrics, tile work, colors, murals, overhead hangings, fixtures, china, etc etc etc .. all join together to make one of the most wonderfully designed restaurants I have ever eaten.

The service .. always so good! Our first trip, we had a woman who was so helpful. She walked us thru all the dishes .. all the things that weren't quite familiar. This last trip, one of our serves was Michael. I would request his section anytime.

Last but not least .. the food! Oh my gosh .. I have never had a bad dish there! The grouper, mahi mahi, snapper, halibut, steak, lobster appy.. were all just great. And a wonderful, unique finishing touch was the chocolate sampler.
