We will be at WDW June 1-7    . We want to avoid huge crowds if possible :earseek: . Should we try to stay away from MGM on the weekend? Thanks for any advice!!

If I were you, I'd do MGM during the week and avoid it on Friday, Saturday and Sunday unless you are really interested in the Star Wars activities.

I'm a Star Wars fan like everyone else, but this is a short trip, and I want to be able to do as much as possible in the park the day we go there, so we'll avoid the weekend!

If you're not interested in SWW related events then don't go to MGM on the weekend. Most of the crowds are just around Star Tours but the park will probably be less crowded during the week.

Funny you should ask. I was there last night, the park was CROWDED... there was a 45 min wait for TT and a 60 min wait for RRC ... Too much for me, and I only had an hour to kill before I went to see the 9 pm LaNouba show.

We just were there last weekend and the SW area was mobbed! The rest of the park was fine and enjoyable. We have been to several SWW in the last few years and this year was by far so crowded we couldn't enjoy most of the SW activities. I know the release of the new movie is to blame. If you avoid the SW area except to ride Star Tours--which didn't have long waits --you'll be ok. Just hang on to your kids! We lost one of our kids in the mayhem and it was a very scary 15 minutes for us..of course, DS had no idea that his parents were missing him--he new exactly where he was and couldn't understand why mom was so frantic!

We were there yesterday and noticed that the crowds were larger than normal, plus being a holiday weekend added to the attendance figures no doubt. We were going to go back again today, but stayed home instead because of yesterday's experience at MGM.

We were there last Saturday and it was packed! I left something on the Star Tours ride, and when I went back to get it, there was a security guard at the exit to the ride. He didn't want to let me in! He made my sister wait outside because he thought we were trying to sneak into the store. They had a roped off que area with a 3 HOUR wait to get in!!!! I couldn't believe it! I would avoid MGM on the weekends unless you're a real SW buff.

In a word...YES!!!!!!!!!

We were there the first Friday of the SWW. OMGosh...it was CRAZY!!! There was hardly room to walk, let alone do anything else. We waited in line for 90 mins just so my son could by a silly little Ewok. Good grief! My DS and DH are huge Star Wars fans...if they weren't..I would have run out of there screaming! :rotfl2:

We were there yesterday and to me it seemed like alot more people than last year when we did SWW. We were going to go back today, but we're gonna head to DTD instead. Hopefully, the crowds are just due to the holiday weekend.

Stay away, stay away! We were there last week on Sun. and it was crowded. The problem was that we only had Fri, Sat, or Sun to go to MGM.

We went on the first Friday and it was PACKED, we had a great time seeing Jedi Mickey, Chewwie and Darth Vadar. I spoke to a CM who was working in the Star Tours store the other day and he said that normally the first weekend is the busiest, but they hadn't counted on SOOOO many fans being there. We called into MGM yesterday before we flew home to the UK (I've only been home a few hours) and it seemed a lot quieter to me.

Have fun
