Are selfie sticks a problem at the parks / on rides?

I think there would be no issue if people were respectful with them.

I've seen some pictures taken with these things, and they always have the stick visible in the shot. I personally wouldn't want a random pole at the bottom of all of my pictures. I recently read this thing about how you can plug earphones into your smartphone and then press the volume up button on them to take armless selfiies. I'd rather do that, myself, but of course, you need a place to dock the phone, then.

My husband and I saw a bunch of them both in San Diego (Zoo and Seaworld) and Disneyland last week. Including one person that was trying to walk in disneyland with the stick out taking video.

I mean really who CARES to see a video of you walking down the path at Disney?

We just left Universal today. The sticks were really bad in Diagon Alley as people stood and waited for the dragon to breathe fire behind them, and they were bad in front of the spinning Universal sign in front of the park. I didn't see any on the rides and no rides were stopped/interrupted because of them.
