Are rides running while Fantasmic is going on?

Don't flame me - but I've seen Fantasmic and thought it was a good show - but would rather wander around MGM this time. Does the park kinda "pack up" while the show is going on or can you continue to ride?

Well, as long as the park is still open. And that would be a great time to enjoy shorter lines. Plus, you can still catch the second performance of Fantasmic, right?

my experience says it depends on when you visit... we were there last aug/sept and there was very little to see or do just before fantasmic started... little mermaid was closed, sounds dangerous was closed, wwtbam was closed, beauty and the beast was over, playhouse was closed, and we got the last performance of indy and magic of animation... so, the headliner rides may be open, but most of the smaller stuff was done for the day... we were disappointed (esp 'cause we had to have an earlier ps for dinner than we wanted, so while we were eating, the attractions were open, but once we were done, there was little to do other than just wait)

When we go they are doing Fantasmic twice 9:00 & 10:30. What time should we line up to go to the 10:30?

If park closing is later than Fantasmic, then the ride lines will be open, assuming that they are not closed earlier for some reason (some rides have earlier closings).

Example 1: If the posted park closing time is 9pm and Fantasmic is scheduled for 9pm, they will stop letting people in the ride lines at 9pm.

Example 2: If the posted park closing time is 10pm and Fantasmic is scheduled for 9pm, all of the rides will continue to operate normally during Fantasmic.
