Are rental cars more expensive at the WDW Car Care Center/Dolphin than at the airport

I still haven't found an impressive rate for our May trip, but to save time, I was wondering if the above is true or not. Still on the fence about renting a car at the airport for the whole trip, or just for part of the trip and renting on site.

Thanks!

Ours is actually quite a bit less expensive using Aamo with codes and the prepay 15% discount. We are renting over presidents' week and it is incredibly expensive, but going this route we found a fairly reasonable rate. We are taking ME and picking the car up on our 3rd day, so we'll have the car half the time we are there and for another week at the beach. Dropoff is also free at the airport, so we are very happy. There are many locations all over WDW including Dophin and Downtown Disney. We found an even better rate at Budget at the Doubletree, but the Alamo vehicle might meet our needs better. Try and see what you come up with..

I have rented twice now at the Dolphin and it has always been cheaper than picking the car up at the airport. (National) We drop it off at the airport, which is the same rate as leaving it at the Dolphin. You don't have all the airport fees if you pick up at the Dolphin or car care center.

we rented from the aaa car care center and saved almost 200
it is much cheaper at the dolphin and aaa car center than the airport

I found that my rate, booked last minute (same day) from the Car Care Center, was less per day than when I had originally booked with an entertainment coupon from the airport.

I just ran my dates with picking up at Disney and it was a HUGE difference.
$43 at MCO and $27 at Disney, what is their selection like, do they let you pick your own car with EA as well? Do they have Mini Vans there in the EA?
Makes the quote about $90 less this way!

No EA at the Dolphin. You check in and the valet people at the Dolphin bring the car up to you. The car we got last August was gross. Next time I will take the time to check the car out and make sure it's clean! I've never had that problem with National before, so I'm sure someone just made a mistake.

That is too bad, I was hoping to get to pick my own and hopefully get upgraded like we did last time!

I booked a week in July and it was about $60 more for Dolphin/Car Care Center vs. airport p/u and return.
I booked Alamo and used a Costco discount and $25 off coupon code.

Can I ask what kind of vehicle you were renting and for how long?? I am currently pricing rentals from Disney..only need it for a day and I'm getting a price of $50+/day for a compact. Renting for more than 1 day would make it more convenient though....especially at the rates you're getting! Are you using codes...I checked Mousesavers and all the codes are gone from the site. PM me if you need to. Thanks so much!

If renting at the Dolphin or elsewhere at WDW, how do most folks get from MCO to WDW?

And hello, Mary, Happy New Year, and thanks again for a great site.

My dates that I used was December 7th to 15th 2006, intermediate size car and used Coupon for $20 off --- 10009508 (entertaiment book) and Priceless vacations -- 6600330
pick up the Orlando- Walt Disney Car Care Cntr. (ORLR02) and drop off at MCO

Hope this helps!

Use the Magical Express one way. Might even be easier because of not having to pick up your luggage. :earsgirl:

Not for the Swan/Dolphin though, correct?

I am not 100% sure but you can always check in to your hotel and then go from there using the disney buses, or a cab would not be much from there.

I'm sorry Mary.
The tips and codes on your site are amazing! You've saved me so much $$ on our WDW trips throughout the years! I really appreciate all the work you put into the site. :worship:
