Are regular veggie burgers still available in the parks?

I know that Cosmic Ray's in MK and Rosie's in DHS have both gotten rid of their veggie burger. This was a staple on our trips as DD is vegetarian (and somewhat picky). Is there still anywhere in any of the parks that serves a regular veggie burger? Not some other vegetarian sandwich like a falafel burger or a spicy black bean burger but a plain old veggie burger.

If not, I'm really not sure what we're going to do with her. I guess she's going to be eating a lot of PB&J kids meals.

How about at the resorts, especially the monorail resorts or Epcot area resorts? If we can hop the monorail or walk out through International Gateway to eat at a hotel instead of in the park, that would be an option.

Thanks for any info.

You might want to email special.diets@disneyworld.com and ask them where you can find a plain veggie burger. They may or may not be very helpful, but IME sometimes they have food substitutes off menu that they don't really advertise. I find this especially with allergy free items. They may even offer xyz, but if you specifically ask for another item they sometimes have it. It's been a while since I've looked for a veggie burger but I would imagine they must have them somewhere.

I, too, would like to know their response. I'm just back from WDW and couldn't find a veggie burger (and I'm vegan) anywhere, but there were many places I didn't ask, since there were long lines and I wanted to eat, not wait in line to find out there was nothing there. There are a lot of vegetarian (and vegan) options at WDW, however, and many of them are not spicy (if your DD is like me and isn't into spicy or hot). Check out https://vegandisneyworld.com/ for some info.

If this helps: my staples at WDW are (1) Lighthouse Sandwich (no slaw for vegan me) at CHH in MK; (2) spaghetti marinara at MM (not on the menu, but they'll make it for you) in DHS . . . and there's always Mickey pretzels and popcorn, although hardly a meal!; (3) Veggie Naan-wich at Electric Umbrella in Epcot (the bread isn't vegan--they'll substitute, but your DD is vegetarian) and also the Vegetable Platter at the Tangierine Cafe in Morocco; and (4) vegan pizza at Pizzafari in DAK.

None of these dishes is spicy, btw. None is a veggie burger either, I'm sorry to say. I miss them too! I always had the veggie burger at Cosmic Ray's (absolutely zero vegan dishes there now) and at Rosie's (they replaced it with the very spicy veg burger at least 2 years ago) and at Restaurantosaurus. According to the website above, they do have a Gardenburger Malibu burger at Restaurantosaurus, but the line was so long when I went by, I didn't want to test out the theory.

Also, if you didn't know: Erin McKenna's Bakery at DS--all vegan and gluten-free. And Blaze Pizza, also at DS--zillions of vegetarian and vegan options. And the pizza's ready in 180 seconds!

We never found one in June. My DD17 is a vegetarian and her staples are mac and cheese, veggie burgers and cheese pizza. She won't eat "mixed" food so most of the vegetarian offerings at Disney Restaurants didn't work for her.
She only likes certain uncooked vegetables like celery and carrot sticks. She did eat alot of salads (usually asking for them to be plain lettuce with only cheese and croutons on it with ranch dressing on the side) and supplemented with popcorn or Mickey pretzels in the park.

She was happy at Mama Melrose with their marinara sauce/spaghetti and cheese pizza anyplace is fine for her. Since we had our car, we stopped at Publix and picked her up a 4 pack of veggie burgers that she microwaved in the room for a couple of dinners (we were in a Cars Suite at AoA so that worked easily) when she went back to the room rather than staying in the park.

Let us know what Disney says when they get back to you.

There's a full list of CS options including burgers available on Vegan Disney World. Some places have Malibu burgers but you have to ask - I know ABC Commisionary in HS has one. Makes no sense to keep them secret to me but there you go.

Disappointing for us too that Cosmic Ray's don't have a vegie burger. We found it a great place to visit as two of us are vegetarian and two not, so there was something for us all. Neither of us are keen on falafel's. We call them fal-awfuls.

^^^^^^too funny^^^^^

& I'm with you-clearly we all have individual tastes-
I'm extremely selective-my dh is the total opposite & he wasn't even keen on the falafel.

I wrote to that address as well. What the heck. The more of us who write, the more aware they'll be that there are vegetarians and vegans out there who are Mouseketeers!

I'll post the reply as soon as I receive one.

Disney is really lacking in vegetarian food. I don't see why they don't have veggies burgers. Keeps for a long time and cooks fast. A veggie burger, roll, fries and condiments might cost them a dollar and charge 10 dollars for it or whatever. It's a win for Disney and win for vegerterians.

I completely agree about the ease of keeping some veggie burgers on hand in the freezer. It seems odd to me that the resort kitchens don't stock them. It's not like they'd take up too much space, yet no WDW resort I've ever stayed at has had veggie burgers.

Hi, everyone. WDW wrote back to me already! Pretty amazingly fast. They sent me a link to vegan menu options at WDW. I realize this doesn't solve the vegetarian question the OP raised, but it does show where one can get a vegan veggie burger in the World. I'll post the link below, but, in summary, veggie burgers are available (although not necessarily on the menu) in the following locations: All Star Sports and All Star Movies Food Courts; DisneyQuest FoodQuest; Restaurantosaurus (and, btw, Tofutti is also available there); Contempo Cafe; Mickey's Backyard BBQ; Hoop De Doo Review; 1900 Park Fare has 2 different vegan veggie burgers available; Gasparilla Island Grill also has 2 vegan veggie burgers; ditto (2 different veg burgers) at the Grand Floridian Cafe; Narcoosee's; Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater; Pop Century Food Court; Beaches & Cream Soda Shop.

Hope this helps a bit! So the only QS place that still has a vegan veggie burger (and not a spicy black bean burger) is Restaurantosaurus. I had no idea the GF was such a haven of veggie burgers, but it is!

They have a plain veggie burger that they dress up at the Fountain in the Dolphin. I'm sure they could easily omit the toppings. The onion rings there are quite good too. That kind of fast food can kill my stomach, but its been pretty good, for what it is, and that particular place isn't so greasy.

That's awesome info, I'm going to share with my vegan friends who have had concerns. Thank you for sharing it.

Shame about the lack of QS but its great to know where to find them. I did see one listed on the menu of The Plaza when looking at menu's on 'Allears' but not sure if this is out of date as its not on Disney's list above.

So I got an entirely unsatisfactory response from the Special Diets department. My email to them clearly asked where on property, in the parks or at the resorts, veggie burgers were still available. Here's what they wrote back to me:

Regrettably, the information you are requesting is not something we are
currently able to provide. Menus and ingredient lists are not available
in advance. Due to the large volume of meals we serve, vendors and
suppliers occasionally swap out product. Therefore menu items and
preparation is often updated. To receive the most current and accurate
information, we ask that you speak to a Chef or Manager when you arrive
at each location. They will be happy to assist with your selection and
provide product labels and ingredients for menu items.

Really, Disney? I told you that I'm arriving on Saturday and you can't tell me what dining locations currently serve veggie burgers? I was very disappointed by this response and will be letting them know that.

Restaurantosaurus
For those who don't know this, be advised that the burger there is a spicy black bean burger. And when I say spicy, I mean SPICY. Neither my daughter nor my wife was able to eat it. I got through mine but I have to say that even though I like hot food, this was spicier than I would prefer. It isn't something any of us would ever order again.
