DH and I are are very much on the fence (still) about DVC. Took D2D tour last week. Still going back and forth about it. DH is wondering if you can negotiate with Disney.

Anyone? Thanks in advance!

No, they don't negotiate on direct purchases - they publish the offers that are available to all. Sometimes it's a matter of picking between different incentives that might be going on ($ off points, incentive/developer points, a cruise), but they don't haggle on the prices.

You can try to negotiate on the resales. Make a reasonable offer if you see a good contract that is what you're looking for.

As others have indicated, Disney won't negotiate. I'm sure you can appreciate that if they did so it would probably get all over the internet and undermine their selling price going forward.

Unless you are set on BLT or have a trip in the next 2-3 months that you must use points for, buy resale and you've negotiated yourself a much better rate from the start.

And then, you can try to negotiate on the resales, probably more likely to have some leverage on a stripped contract with no points until 2011 or even more so, 2012 if 2011 was borrowed. That may be one way to get into BLT cheap, but then you can't stay there for some time.

Resale may allow some flexibility to negotiate maintenance fees and who's paying that first year (maybe).

Resale is really the way to go unless you can't find your specific needs, use year, point values or want to go now.

I just purchased resale at BCV, Disney still wanted 115 per point and I paid 80. We did not want BLT or SSR. Process was easy

If you decide to look into the resale option, you are more than welcome to present offers on DVC listings. Most sellers are open to reasonable offers.:cool1::banana:
