Are Pictures Better Than Real Life?

I was talking about some pictures that I took at Disney World last October. I didn't take any pictures of the characters and have no children, but I liked watching other people's children at the meet and greets for the Disney characters. My friend made a surprising comment that may actually be true for many people. She said that she thought most adults like pictures of children more than they like them in real life. How much truth do you think that there is in that statement?
