I was reading the thread about the Crystal Palace and the cm mentioning a 10.00 cancellation fee. I looked up cancellation fees for wdw restaurant and saw this -

"A cancellation policy applies and may result in charges if you cancel with insufficient notice. Specific policies related to this facility will be detailed at time of reservation booking."

for the biergarten and a few other restaurants - what's the deal?

indeed, today was the first time I have ever heard of a no-show fee for Crystal Palace. I made a reservation for Citricos yesterday and wasn't asked for a card number for a guarantee.

On the Disney website, that phrase seems to appear now on the pages for all Disney TS restaurants:

A cancellation policy applies and may result in charges if you cancel with insufficient notice. Specific policies related to this facility will be detailed at time of reservation booking

I have no idea if it was there yesterday.

we are staying for 7 nights, 8 days and are on DDP. made majority of our ADR's and we are dining at several signature restaurants and the only one that talked about cancellation fee was california grill.

Same here, but I just think it is curious that all of the sudden that new "additional information" (as they put it) is there on the website.

I think that's a great idea. I think there should be a fairly liberal cancellation window, but most people know within a couple of hours of their ADR whether they are going to make it or not. That would give walk ins a chance at a meal, and make sure the restaurants stay full. I don't think every restaurant needs 48 hours or 24 hours notice of a cancellation.

I posted this question on the other thread and will post it again here. What if some of your party shows up and some don't. I made several ADRs for our Sept trip and booked extra seats, because we are meeting some fellow DISers for those meals. What happens if some show up and some don't?

Hmmmm... unless you book your ADR with a Credit Card how can they charge a cancellation fee??? I'm confused- I made ADRs there before and never had to secure them with a CC- has that changed now? Not that I am complaining- reserving with a CC and having to pay a fee for cancelling may make ADRs easier to get as people won't book multiple ADRs for the same night and then pick where they are going last minute.
