Are Magic Bands still being sent prior to arrival in the mail ?

I went to customize our Magic Bands today (we aren't checking in until April) and saw the following.

Does this mean they aren't shipping them before arrival and we only have the option now to pick them up at the resort? Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of online check in where you can go directly to your room? I could see if we were arriving less than 30 days out why they would deliver them to the resort but we are still 5 months away from check in.

If you customize them prior to 30 days and select only complimentary (free) MagicBands, they will be sent out around 30 days prior to your arrival date.

If you customize them and select any paid upgrades, the entire MB order will be processed and mailed out immediately.

They will ship your MagicBands approximately three weeks before your arrival if you customize them and live in the United States. If you don't customize them in time for them to ship then they will be waiting at the desk for you. It is confusing but that seems to be how it works. :)
 

My trip is in January. I customized my MagicBands 2 weeks ago and they were sent to my home last week. Different from other trips getting them so early, but we paid for upgraded bands so maybe that factors in.
 
I am going in December. I selected regular red MB, no upgrade. I received my MB about three weeks prior to the trip. I did the customization months ago as this trip has been booked for almost a year. I usually do the MB customizing right after I do online check in.

Same here. received regular magic bands - no upgrades- about 3 weeks prior to arrival.
 
I ordered one customized MB and one free MB. My res says they will be waiting for me on hotel arrival in late January.
 
I ordered 1 customized MB and 2 free MBs last week for my Memorial Day trip. Got notification that they’re at my local post office and will be delivered tomorrow.
 
Totally weird to get our custom bands already for our Dec 2020 trip - I picked custom bands about 3 weeks ago. I just stuck them in a draw to surprise DH. I am assuming they will be okay in that box for a solid year. LOL!

I got the same message as well. I selected my band and customized, even returned to confirm I had done so before the required date. I assumed from what the message said that bands were not being sent any longer and did not question it not being sent in the mail. I get to the resort and they didn't have the band I ordered. They had a gray (I'd ordered yellow) band with my name on it, but not the customization I asked for. It wouldn't had been such a big deal, but my dad just passed away and I had put LoveUDad as my customization. I was devastated and left crying at check-in. I know it was just an unfortunate glitch or miscommunication or whatever, but the circumstances made it an awful, unwinnable situation. They tried just about everything to make it better, but I couldn't accept anything because it felt wrong to gain something because my dad had passed away.

The only thing I can think of is sometimes websites think I am in Canada. I'll sometimes get the Canadian version of Lowe's and other stores when I'm doing online shopping. All I know, is this won't happen again. I won't put anything deeply personal and I'll bring a band in my preferred color with me.
