Are Gratuities included when using DDP at Cinderella's Castle?

Ok, I know that when using the dining plan in 2008, gratuities are no longer included but I noticed this on the Deluxe Dining Plan brochure "Two meals for each person dining at Cinderella’s Royal Table will be redeemed from your meal plan balance. Gratuities are included." Is this just a typo or are they actually included?

Anyone else? I just went back and looked and it also says that gratuity is included for the Dinner shows too. Has anyone heard anything about this?

I wasn't sure if I had read this wrong too. I will be using the Free DDP for the first time this Summer and we've never eaten here before, and it would be an added bonus if the tips were included too :thumbsup2

According to the plan brochure, gratutity for CRT, the dinner shows, and room service are covered by the dining plan. IIRC (and I might now - it has been a while since I paid OOP for meals at Disney!), the pricing for CRT and the shows includes gratuity in the per-person pricing, so that's probably why the DDP still covers it at those places.

So, CRT i will not be charged gratuities? This is 2008, right? Is that only for the CRT as the 2008 brochure does not list CRT as gratuties included? Where did you find in the brochure that CRT includes Gratuties?

I think that is because it really isn't a dinner show in the fashion of HDDR or the luau. Other than the confusion caused by the brochure, every menu I looked at listed the pirce exclusive of tax and tip. My thought is that someone mixed it up with a real dinner show rather than character dining experience and assumed the tip was included. As for DDP and DXDDP, plan on paying a tip while the price and tax will be included.
Castle dining has not been a good value in quite some time. If you value the experience of the castle and the characters maybe it could be justified, but truly this is not signature dining at its finest!

The 2008 brochure on the Disney site does list gratuities as included in all 3 meals at CRT. Look for the "G" symbol next to the meal/restaurant name in the participating restaurant list. http://adisneyworld.disney.go.com/m...agespecific/eng/nontheme/tickets/08Dining.pdf

We went last night and had to tip. :-(

the 2008 dining brochure doses show CRT as gratuties included. I wonder why they made you pay. Did the billl come with the 18% added, or did you just leave a tip.

I wonder if peopel are even aware

I called Disney Dining finally and the first time I was told no, it was not. The cm didn't seem very confidant so I called back again and was told that gratuity IS included at CRT as well as the dinner shows such as HDDR. I wonder if anyone in dining knows what they are talking about. I am wondering why they made you pay?:confused3 I guess we'll figure it out when we get there.

When you go bring the brochure with you and if they force the tip on you, show them the brochure. You are hardly responsible for the mouse and it's marketing. If enough people do this they will either honor the statement or change the brochure.

Has anyone else done CRT during the last week and had to pay tips ?

Thanks :thumbsup2
