Just wondering if this is still true. We're trying to get to EPCOT this Saturday, but probably won't make it into the park and ready to ride until the early afternoon. DD really wants those 2 rides, and DH and I refuse to wait 40+ minutes to go on any ride!!!

If you're going to ANY Disney park on a Saturday, and this is your menatlity, you're gonna miss out on an awful lot.

well, actually, we're already planning on staying Sunday through Tuesday, but we thought we'd add an extra day at the beginning and try and do a bit of EPCOT. we've been a zillion times before, but we figured we'd wander F&G a bit and take DD on her favorite rides.

DH and I still refuse to wait on lines. We usually stick to fastpasses and rider swaps to make the most of the rides. Didn't mean to come off snotty.

ps - DD is only 4 and not big enough for single rider line at TT, which is what they told us last time.

Never thought of that...can't believe they wouldn't let DD & 1 parent (as a group) into the singles line - if only to protect themselves on liability issues. Don't remember seeing any restrictions posted @ singles line (?).

Anyone know the policy on this?

This is true a child under 7 can not use the single rider line. WDW requires a child to be 7 to ride alone and since the singles line is for those who choose to ride alone (single) a 4yo is not eligible.

Also, just fyi if a child is tall enough to ride the attraction baby swap isn't going to be an option either. During our trips in Feb and April the child had to be present and not meet the restriction for the family to use baby swap.

Based on my experience the FP's will likely be gone for Soarin by noon, TT may be a bit later now that some of the crowds are drawn to Soarin. Soarin dosen't have a single rider line but TT and MS do.

we have another child, age 2, who isn't tall enough for anything, thus the use of rider swap!

It depends on the season. During Christmas and Easter, yes they disappear before noon. During slow seasons they are there much longer.

40 minutes is not a bad wait time. Like another poster said, if you have the mentality that you're not willing to wait long for rides, you're going to miss a lot. Who knows: FP may be available when you get there. Keep an open mind.

thanks everyone. i think we'll try to do our best to get there before noon, even though that's no guarantee FP's will even be left! we usually don't go when the crowds are high, but since this will effectively be a "bonus day", we'll take what we can get. this will just be some motivation to get there earlier in the day!

TJ, thanks also for clarifying the single rider restriction on TT. i wondered why DD was tall enough, but not tall enough to go alone. i dont' think she'd care who she was sitting next to, as long as she was riding!

When we went before Christmas, the wait for Soarin' was over 3 hours. Thanks to FP, we were ok, probably still 20 minutes or so.

We were just there two weeks ago and fast passes were still available for both rides after noon time. I would not recommend relying totally on fast passes because they are nice, but oftens a very long wait and you will miss a heck of a lot. 40 minutes at Disney is definitely doable even with a 4 year old. We did it! My 4 year old did not complain in line at all. Keep in mind that you can only have one fast pass at a time, so if your return time is two hours later, you could be spending that two hours on another ride instead waiting for the fast pass to be ready.

We went last week of April and FP for both were definitely still available after noon every day.

Just a suggestion - I don't know if you plan on staying until park closing, but it's been my experience that the lines at these rides at the very end of the day are much shorter than the posted wait times.

thanks kitka and our2girls for the FP reports. obviously with a FP you still don't really walk right on, but that wait i can handle. and i wasn't concerned about the 4 year old waiting in line. she can be patient enough, but while we're waiting in line, we feel like there are other things we can be walking around and doing in EPCOT, rather than standing in a line. also, since our 2 year old can't go on the ride, that's that much longer that one of us has to entertain him in the waiting area, and that gets old pretty fast.

skwinkles, thanks for the tip. there have been many a night where we were the very last ones on the ride!!! :thumbsup2
