Are Disney Springs restaurants hard to get these days?

I called Homecomin' to make a reservation but they said I can only book through Disney now at 60 days. I checked the app over the next 60 days and nothing is available. We are staying offsite for a few days and plan to eat at Disney Springs at night before we move to a Disney resort for our park days. So, I won't have the large window of a resort stay. So is Homecomin' and other Disney Springs restaurants going to be impossible to get without a resort stay?

Many of the DS restaurants (not Homecomin' though) are on Open Table and can be booked even earlier than the 60 days they are available on MDE. Even though we always stay onsite, I always go ahead and make any Open Table reservations as soon as they come available (it varies by restaurant). I've rarely had any problem booking them that way and that's a few less reservations to have to make on MDE when our 60 day window opens up.

As for Homecomin' - yes, it's hard to get a reservation, but you might be able to join the walk up list. Go early or at an off time and you probably can get in, though you might have a bit of a wait.

OK I will look there for some other ones and cross my fingers for a Homecomin' reservation. It's my son's only request for the trip. We will definitely try walking up at an odd time if we can't find anything. When I called the person I spoke with seemed annoyed because they made it clear that Disney took it from them to have more control. LOL She also did say they hold 75% of their tables for walk up.

That's interesting. I knew they took walk ups but had no idea they held that many tables back for them. That's good to know!

I was able to find boathouse on Open Table but it only showed me reservations for 4 people...not 5, not 3, only 4. There were plenty of them available for 4 but I need 5. I booked a 4 person and I'm going to call soon and ask if I can convert it to 5 over the phone.

Huzzah! Got a Saturday Feb 26 Boathouse reservation for 4:45 - don’t mind a slightly early dinner since I’ll want to hit the hay by 8 for the half. Thanks for the Open Table tip!
