Are Disney scooter rentals $40 or $45 dollars, now?

I forgot what we rented one for last year. I'm working on this year's budget for it.

Also, I know they give you a deposit back, but I forgot if that's $5 or $10.

Please, help and TIA.

We try to keep the information in the disABILITIES FAQs up to date.
The official Disney website lists these prices, which have been in effect for a while:
$10.00 per day rental (wheelchairs) $45.00 per day rental + $20.00 deposit (ECVs)

We rented a scooter 3 days thes week at DL Anaheim. They charge you $68 and change when you rent it, then give you $20 back when you return the scooter and key.

If you pay cash, you get the $20 back in cash- if you use a credit card they do charge it and then refund the $20 upon return, but be prepared for the refund to take a few dasy to come back up on your card as available money. They also take Disney dollars.

The correct price for ECV at both DLR and WDW is $45 plus $20 depostit but you have to add about $3 in taxes. So total is a few pennies over $48 for a one day ECV rental.

And if you rent at DTD with a charge card, they charge it for $100 plus the $45 fee. Much better to rent from offsite if you are going to be there for more than 1 day.

I have finally decided to buy a scooter instead of renting. I'm getting a scooter that would be considered ok for airplanes and cruising, too.

We plan on being in the world for 10 to 14 days; so, it's getting to the point that two or three trips someplace will pay for an acceptable scooter for us.

The downside to my circumstance and why I haven't done this sooner is that for short distances and such we don't need it; it's really a vacation tool for us. So the bad part is the battery will go bad on us (about $175 to replace just the batteries and about $375 for the battery pack ); because, we won't be using it all the time. For some reason, you can't let these puppies just sit idle. I'm trying to figure out a way this won't happen, but I still think I'm doomed on that count to a degree. Supposedly, according to the manufacturer, you need to charge it about once a week; so, the batteries don't drain completely, if not used. Finally, rain and cold is a factor that most travel scooters don't like, either. It can ruin the electrical components. It's not a perfect world buying a scooter. I want one that is car portable inside the car and this is how it is.

The one I think I'm getting is the Pride Mobility Go-Go Elite Traveller Plus. If bought on internet with some freebie accessories and two years insurance, it will cost less than $1400. This scooter goes about 87 pounds without batteries and breaks down to 5 components. The heaviest piece is less than 35 pounds. Right now, we can manage that weight. We have a local store where we could see it, ride it, and have it demonstrated to us for breaking it down. We had it in our car, too.

The other down side is we can't take as much luggage with us which means buying some things once we reach our destination and washing clothes for longer trips. Those are the plusses and minusses for us.

I'm still going to do a little more research. We don't go until late November; so, we have time.
