People on the WDW boards are reporting lower than usual crowds this summer. Is that carrying over on this coast?

Reports I'd read from early July seemed to suggest that crowds were indeed lower at DL. We went in the middle,of June and the crowds weren't unbearable. Having never been in the summer before I had no basis to compare, but it seemed fine. No one knows the explanation for it, though many theories abound: the new peak pricing for single day tickets; WWoHP at Universal; everybody hearing that "summer is crazy and fall is the 'quiet time'"and so delaying summer trips. Probably some combination of all three.

No, crowds have been higher than normal for nearly a year.
A CM I talked to said she thought it was because to the 60th.

I haven't been yet this summer so I can't speak from personal experience, but I've read threads on both MiceChat and Disneyland Reddit that talk about how much less crowded Disneyland has been this summer.

I go about once a week to Disneyland. It SEEMS like the insane crowds that we were seeing when PTN first came out are slowing down a bit. The congested bottle neck areas of Disneyland are still congested and bottle necked. HSM is still a consistent 60-90 minute wait. And Star Tour still seems very popular as well.
We have a had a few days that we thought were pretty nice.....not middle of January nice but nice for summer crowds, for sure!
I would say crowds have felt like 9-10/10 for many, many months and now they are an 8. Some days a 7.

How's that for speculation and anecdotal evidence !!!????

I just signed up for Touring Plans and was very surprised to find that on many days DCA is predicted to be more busy than DL. Sometimes much more crowded!

I overheard a cm say crowds are down on the weekends with the surge pricing and local aps blocked, but higher on weekdays. It was crowded to us, but this was our first summer visit. It was definitely more than when we went in December 2015.

I just got back, and Disneyland park always seemed to be crowded. DCA seemed a little better.

The 4th of July was down. For a holiday it was completely dead. Maybe disney's greed is finally catching up with them.

I was just there this past Saturday and I didn't think the crowds were too bad. Yes, it was crowded, but for a Saturday in July not bad at all. I never waited more than 20min for anything. But, I have also heard that most APs are blocked out on Saturdays so that probably helped.
