Are CM's in Central Reservation on comission?

The reason I ask is because I called yesterday to price a December trip. And although the CM was nice, she was really pushy about the dining plan. So I'm thinking maybe they get comission or a bonus for selling the dining plan? Anyone know? Just curious.

I'm not sure but I notice that too. I'm not doing the dining plan and they really push it when they see that!

They make me feel like a total idiot for not taking it!

Yes, I believe they are on commission...hence why they hate all the "is their a code attached to my name" calls

I know! I've gotten the dining plan twice, but this time we'd like to stay at a Mod resort instead of Pop so we're cutting the dining plan. She said things like, "You have to eat, why not get the ddp?" and "Then you won't have to worry about dining while there, you'll have 2 meals and a snack every day on the ddp."

I told her that it also takes a lot of time out of the parks and this time we'll do mostly CS and then be able to stay in the parks more instead of dining 3 hours a day. (I'll have a 4 yo. and 6 mos. old at that time so dont' know if a TS credit a day would be much fun for us anyway).

She was really pushy. Nice, but really pushy.

I don't know but it wouldn't surprise me if they did. I worked in a call center for a travel company (not disney!) for two years and we had a really complicated formula for bonuses based on our sales goals. They set them so high we rarely made them, but it was better than nothing, I guess. Disney could do the same thing, or could just have a contest just for the dinning plan, whoever books the most plans each week gets a prize or a bonus or something.

I was pricing a trip, and suggested it to the fellow who I spoke with he did not confirm or deny it
but was also offering to put a hold on a room package for me!!!
to hold the reservation when I called back to change date and added a code the other cm was les than helpful!:woohoo:

You know I got the hard sell on the dining plan as well. When I pointed out that there is no way we would do it- they lightened up and moved onto tickets. Booking it as a package. I think that was the main goal. I pointed out that if I buy the tickets now I have to pay for them now. Why not wait until I get closer to my trip and pay for them then? I'll keep the $1500 in the bank for now.

DH called to is "if there was a code" and there wasn't, but then the CM tried everything possible to get him to book the room w/o the code. So we wondered the samething

No force feeding of the dining plan, but the last time I called she asked 3 times if I wanted to book Cirque tickets!

Have you looked into the cost of a AAA membership for the room discounts. Also if you book through AAA you can get a discounted package mine in Feb was going to be a 210 dollar savings but then a value came available so I went w/ that.

I've gotten the hard sell on Cirque tickets too. I never thought that they might be on commission.

When I worked in a call center summers during high school, you wouldn't believe the things that they had us try to push on customers:sad2: It definitely happens.

At the prices I saw I could see they may have a lot of open seats. As a former call center employee I think they are "goaled" on some odd things.

The Phone Rooms today are the coal mines of the past!
