Dining Plan - capuccino's, milkshakes, and no kid dessert on menu

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We are going to have the free dining plan, but I am still trying to make the most of it, and frankly understand it. A couple of questions I had when I was looking at the menus on allears:

Is a milk shake counted as a drink or dessert at whispering canyon and cosmic rays?

Under the "beverage" heading, capuccino was listed at cosmic rays and cantina de San Angel - according to plan will it be a beverage or a dessert?

A couple of times I did not see any dessert listed for kids, like at Sunshine seasons or Cantina de San Angel - can the kids pick from the adult menu for dessert or did allears just forget to list one?

The Lunching pad and Touline legs don't have any dessert nor do they have kids meals, can you eat there for a CS? Do you get a dessert then?

I could be wrong on this as I'm going off of memory. Typically, milkshakes and specialty coffees are beverages. But, they are excluded from DDP coverage just like alcoholic beverages. That being said, YMMV. I have had a server let us get the smoothies at both Boma and LeCellier as a regular beverage. However, the next time we went, we were told no. I've never eaten at Whispering Canyon so I don't know about there specifically.

There are kids desserts at both Sunshine Seasons and the Cantina. They are just missing from the menus on allearsnet. I've seen pictures in recent trip reports.

I'm guessing that the menus at Touluca Turkey Legs and the Lunching Pad are just incomplete as well. Whenever there is no separate kids menu though, they can order off of the adult menu. Both of these places are listed as CS options on the official 2007 list.

I got a milkshake at WCC as my drink, it was the same at Sci Fi, we got the milkshake under our drink. We did not understand what the special drinks meant until towards the end of trip but here is what they told us at Sci Fi: If the drink does not contain alcohol, you can get it as a drink but you DO NOT get a refill (except for WCC where they give you a refill ne ways) but we got special drinks at most of our TS (after we learned the rules)--Scifi, Concourse, and Coral Reef but we did not get a refill but they brought us water, so at our CS we would get pop and/or iced tea/lemonade and at night for our TS dinners we would get a special drink and water w/lemon (if you put sugar in it it makes a pretty darn good lemonade!)

Most CS places do offer some sort of a dessert--usually a cookie or rice crispy..i know at England at Fish and Chips, we only had a choice of a shortbread cookies. We did not eat at the mexico CS or the cosmic rays so I'm not sure what their milkshake policy, but I do know they will offer some kind of dessert esp since the DDP is so popular now but it wouldn't hurt to ask, we asked many times before we got the system down and even after we got back, we figured there were many things we could have gotten with our snack credits that we didn't get!! all i can say is RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH!! www.allears.net helped us with menus and suggestions.

You really have to ask at each place. We've been given capuccinos as our beverage, been given capuccions as our dessert, and been told the plan doesn't cover capuccions.
