Are bug zapper lights allowed at the fort?

I am beginning to round up all the items I am going to bring to the fort next week and I thought about bringing my bug zapper to welcome any mosquitos that may want to join us but I could not find anything pertaining to them being allowed or not. If anyone knows and could fill me in it would be greatly appreciated!!

We've brought our bug zapper to the Fort several times and nothing was said at any time we used it. There's something relaxing hearing the subtle zap sounds and the excitement of the steady sizzle when a moth finds their way into the zapper. But, don't worry about killing those Disney mosquitoes as they are only an endangered species in their movies. :rotfl2:

Fantastic! We will bring ours and eagerly await that moth becoming aquatinted with the high voltage!:thanks:

Now, this is one thing in all our Fort camping that I have 'never' encountered!

Personally, I hate the things - the noise of zapped bugs disrupts the quiet of the natural sounds around me in the evening and night. We had one very temporarily when we were lucky enough to acquire a nest of European Hornets in our back yard. It fulfilled it's purpose (and thankfully no more hornets) and we stopped using it. Those things (E. hornets) are dangerous and that nest was the only ones in the area that anyone saw anything of. One stung me and it was extremely painful.

Anyway, back to the zappers - if they are allowed by Disney, no problems - unless you are camped next to us! >:(:D

Never thought about the bug zapper from the house. But have been in several areas where even with citronella candles and smelling like you bathed in deet, while might keep some of them away you still cannot enjoy the quiet outside with everyone trying to swat all the bugs landing on them.

It is good they are allowed, though I think I would only employ it around dusk when the biters seem more active.

Interesting. It never occurred to me to bring a Zapper. We don't have one at our house either although years ago we used to have one but no more.

For us the bugs haven't been too much of an issue. When we camp at the fort, it's usually in November/December so maybe they aren't as bad then. Certainly not enough that we have worried about them. Then again, we don't typically just sit around idle at our site. We are enjoying other things (the pool, the parks, the events, downtown, Trails end, etc...) all places that you would not take (or leave) a bug zapper.

January is our normal time to go, and bugs are nearly non existent then. But going in August and I think it will be a little buggy. We too tend to be out more then in, but at least I enjoy some mid afternoon or evening downtime just sitting at my sight, enjoying a beverage and taking in the fort.
