My mother was so much like her father - she was even named after him - which is odd because there were ten children in the family and 3 boys so why they picked her I don't know. My granddad lived to be 93 and I always thought my mother would also.
She also was thin and so energetic and looked 10-15 years younger than her age. She had never had a mammogram and developed breast cancer at 65 and died of it at 75.
My dad on the other hand has always weighed over 250 lbs., uses huge amounts of salt and fat, and never was active. I just knew that he would go first but he is still in excellent shape at 83.
