We were disappointed that in 8 days we didn't ride a few of the rides we wanted to. The 90 minute lines turned us away and if you didn't get a fast pass before 2 or 3 they would run out.

Anyway, we've never been in the summer so I am wondering if we should expect the same??

thanks in advance :D

I think it depends on which part of August you are talking about. I would think that toward the middle or end of the month the crowds would thin CONSIDERABLY since so many children are going back to school earlier and earlier, it seems.

I wish we could go in the middle but it will be the first week ~ ~ thanks for the quick reply :)

It will be much hotter and extremely humid in August also, so factor that in to your touring plans.

The first week of August isn't bad crowd wise, and definatly not as bad as Easter. It will be hot and humid but as long as you keep hydrated and take time in the A/C you will be fine. We always get up early and hit the parks to beat the heat and crowds, take a break at the hotel to swin in the afternoon, and then head back to the parks in the late afternoon/evening. This way we beat the afternoon sun and heat.

thanks so much for the reply's! lol Bobcat, I love that line "Disney is a life skill" :) isn't that the truth!!

I'm going in Aug......13-20 to be exact, how bad is it then???? Last time I went it was four years ago and it was about July 20th....my parents and I didn't have TOO bad of a wait anywhere except "its tough to be a bug" in AK, but it probably has gotten a lot more crowded at that time by now.

Have fun......I'm hoping for minimal downpours and a nice day on my B-Day:D

The crowds in August are not nearly as bad as the crowds at Easter.

We'll be there too, with 18 people in our group, so I'm glad to hear that the crowds will be bearable....Have fun everyone!!! And stay hydrated and cool!

I went to DW in August 2002. I was there the first week of Aug. I had no problem getting on any rides. We did us fastpass and it worked out great. We also got up early, got to the parks when they opened, got our fastpass right away for the most popular rides, left the park in the afternoon when it was most crowded, hot and sometimes raining and came back in the evening. This worked very well for us.
