Are APs cheaper if buy online in advance?

I've been holding off purchasing an AP, hoping for July APH rates at hotels. I am going in 2 weeks for a day, also, and may just purchase the Power Pass for admission both times (May and July). Can I just buy the Power Pass when I get there (so I have more time to see if July APH rates come out, in which case I would buy a Preferred AP)? Or are they cheaper if ordered before I go? Also, can you upgrade a used Power Pass to a Preferred if room rates come out? Thanks!!

You can purchase APs online or at the gate and yes you can upgrade from the Power to the Preferred. I don't believe there is any advantage (discount wise) to purchase ahead of time but it will save you a bit of time at the gates by using the Will Call kiosks outside the park gates. Once you go through the gate and activate the AP, your clock will start...not when you buy it.
