Are any of the people looking for TTMM/Aladdin active here?

I randomly checked a couple people on the list and in one case the person hasn't posted here in over a year. The queue concept is all very well and good, but if a donor prefers to give their stuff to active members of the community I think that should be okay too.

Sort of wondered what others thought- should it be rigidly 1st come/1st served or would you give preference to those who participate?

I'm here and waiting, but I need 7 :( I think you could pm people and you could give them a time limit to respond and if they don't respond, move to the next one.

I am on almost every day (at least!). Wish the list moved a little faster though...my trip is coming up in a month...yipee! I only post occasionally.

The last time I received these Aladdin tickets my niece was kissed by a girraffe and the Genie scolded my sister!!!! What fun.

Personally I think if you are willing to share with people then it should be people who are at least semi-active on the boards. I've put my name on the TTMM list twice and have never come close to the top. I didn't bother with the Aladdin list (as much as I'd like them) since we can do that without the tickets but since TTMM is only with vouchers I keep trying for those.

I don't think those list are terribly helpful at operating the desired task.

People tend to come to the DIS to plan before thier trips, but not return to the DIS after their trips. So there aren't too many active users with tickets they didn't get to use.

I think if it was more than a list you added your name to but one you had to renew your name on every couple weeks it would work better. Just a few rules to help it distribute the tickets would be nice.

Im close to the top of the list and check it daily, I'd start from the top and give a 24hr response if nothing then move to the next person.

I am! I don't think opportunities for either come up often. I remember a few months ago somebody had to go several people down on the list before anybody responded... That's just sad. Especially when those of us way down on the list are here daily. I don't really think I'll actually get tickets, but no harm being on the list, right?

Maybe if there is no response within a week or so, those people should be taken off the list.

Not saying that so I move up the list faster though :rotfl:

The Aladdin tickets, how do people get those and what are they for?

They're for premium seating at the Aladdin show. We got them as part of our Costco package. You get pin/lanyard vouchers, Morning Madness, and premium seating for Muppets, Tough to be a Bug and Aladdin.

We used the pin/lanyard and the Muppets (although I had to bail out when the noise scared the baby) but we don't do Aladdin, knew Bug would be too intense and we skipped Toon Town entirely because there's no point when the baby is terrified of the characters.

So my original intent had been to go by the list but I find myself just really reluctant to ship the goodies off to someone who has added themselves to the list and then never been part of the community. I'd rather share with someone who hangs out and chats. There's two big high demand items and I happen to have BOTH. I can't see giving them to someone who never even posts.

See, I consider my self "active" and "part of the community" but I do the same thing. When I have a trip planned, I'm here for MONTHS ahead of time posting and planning. When I don't have one planned, I'm not usually actively posting, though sometimes I do pop in every once in awhile for the fun of it. However, I do try to answer questions when I am here and post my trip reports, etc, to help others. So I guess it depends what your definition of "active" is. Someone may have looked at my profile last week and assumed I wasn't "active" because I hadn't been here in a few months. Now I'm here every day this week, and will be off and on until our trip in November, lol. ;)

I'm now 13th on the list and hope I get some tickets! :wizard: I've never seen the Aladdin show and its been "cancelled" so many times or not playing when we go (which is usually off-season, midweek), and I've been SO bummed out, and then it gets "uncancelled" or extended, and I'm all excited again, but I've STILL never been, lol.

Do you get separate premium seat tickets for each show? We'll be going and should get these tickets here within the next couple of weeks. We won't be doing Aladdin or Bug (she didn't like that last year at WDW, so we'll wait a few years to go back), but we will likely do Muppets (is it the same as WDW?). Would that mean I have 2 sets of tickets to give up or none? We are definitely using our MTTMM tickets.

FYI: The WDTC location in DTD sells the vouchers (including MTTMM and Aladdin PS) for $10/person (over age 3). So it its something you are willing to pay for that is also an option. They used to be called "Magical Extras" but I think now they are "Passport Plus booklets". This has been found there as recent as April.

I've never heard of the Passport Plus booklets. Do you know what is included?

What is the WDTC??? I would definitely drop $10 on that.

When I go to DLR I am always jealous of the "VIP" people with vouchers, because they generally get the front row, but that is only because my friends and I enjoy getting a close-up of the actors.

**HOWEVER- For those of you who are seeing the Aladdin show for the first time, I definitely wouldn't suggest the front row. If you sit in the back part of the "Orchestra" area, or in the "Mezzanine", you get a much better experience (IMHO) in terms of being able to see and enjoy the VERY fun special effects of the show.

So don't lose hope if you don't get the VIP vouchers!!! No matter what, the show is FAB.

Still go to see if even if you don't get the tickets! In our experience, your view will be WAY better than if you get the preferred seating, as you won't be directly underneath the flying carpet, and you'll see more than just the knee of, well, you'll see.

It's so good to know that you can still do that!

Walt Disney Travel Center. It's a tiny storefront, near Alamo I believe (tucked way back there in DTD), and it seems they still sell the little add-ons to packages, which is so cool.

Good to know!! Maybe I'll just take my name off the list then, lol!!

 I usually come back to the Dis when I'm planning a trip, so it has been over a year and now I'm back.

I have given away my passport booklets 4 times now, they are for a family of five. I do look at the list. The list I usually go by is the MTTMM...but I don't go from the top, I like to find a family with children and give them away, that's just my preference. The people I contacted always got back to me in a short period of time.

OK I just looked at my reservation confirmation again and it's not a passport booklet, I booked through CSAA and it includes:
AAA Vacation Diamond Card*, Mickey's Toontown Morning Madness, Preferred seating at Disney's Aladdin-A Musical Spectacular-
Muppet Vision 3D-It's Tough to be a Bug!-Animation Academy, FREE Parking at Disneyland® Resort Theme Parks, EXCLUSIVE! AAA Vacations® collectible pin, lanyard, and luggage tag (one per person).

*discounts and special values for dining, shopping, and entertainment at participating locations in the Downtown Disney® District (one per package).

And we used our Disney CC so it includes a Dream Backpack and preferred parade viewing ...we now have 3 backpacks so we don't need
another one! and I don't think we have ever used the parade viewing.
We also don't use the MTTMM
