We are thinking of purchasing the annual passes for our family. First of all, how do you activate them? Are they paper passes or finger scan? And if they are finger scan, do you have to finger scan everytime you enter a park? Any info on the annual passes would really be appreciated!:D

They are paper passes, but work in connection with finger scans. Yes adults have to do the finger scan everytime you use your pass. Once purchased, they are activated. If you purchase prior to arriving in the parks, you receive a voucher, which you turn in for the actual ticket with your name and date on it.

So what you're saying is that I can buy them now and activate them in November and they're good for a year after activation?

Yep. That's exactly how it works. We bought our vouchers in August for an October trip. Our passes expire in October on the day we activated them.

Everyone has a paper pass, and does the finger scan to enter.
Make sure you bring a photo id with incase for some reason the finger scan doesn't work. That happens sometimes, and the CM's will ask to see your photo id to make sure you are you. ;)

I have one last trip planned for Sept, to get one last hurrah out of our AP's before they expire.

Have Fun!!

I have a bit of a dilema with finger scans:( My hands are very dry and have deep creases where my finger prints are, which make it very tough to get an accurate read from a machine. I've gone through computer fingerscanning before for my job. I can see it now! I'm holding up the line at the entrance to MK because the scanner can't read my prints   I think I'll have to skip the pass. :(

The machine does not read prints.
Thus, that should not be a problem.

Oh! There's hope for me after all!:D Could you explain the process please? Thank you!

Goldenoldie: Thank you for the link! I didn't realize that Deb had that info on her site. I'm really thinking about buying the passes. Thanks again!:D
