I'm really nervous now about my reservations. I know I have plenty of time to cancel so I guess it's okay (for now).

We are arriving at 1:30...Dec 1st, booked Le Cellier CP for 5:30 with show at 8:15. First are we giving ourselves enough time to get to dinner? (from airport on ME to Polynesian) And am I crazy to risk the cost of the dinners on the chance that the plane could be delayed???

Need some opinions PLEASE....

you might be a little rushed. my first thought is what is the weather generally like in early december? is there a chance of a weather delay? you might have a wait for ME also, depending when you "hit" it. i think starting your trip w/a special treat as CP is wonderful, but just to be on the safe side, i would try to change to the next night. just a thought.

I would not schedule the CP dinner for the night you arrive, especially since you are flying to Florida. For the same reason, I won't book the Halloween party or the Christmas party for arrival day, either.

Wow, I don't think you would make that! IF your plane arrives on time, you still have to truck through the airport, go through the Express line, get on a bus, travel to WDW, check in at your hotel, go to your room, go back out and make your way to Epcot, and then walk the very long distance from the Epcot gate to the Canada pavillion. Move the ressie and eat counter service your first night, trust me!

Yikes reading this makes me a bit nervous. We are going for our honeymoon in feb first time there. We have 5 pm dinner ressies at boma, then the new pirate and princess party for that night it starts at 7:30. We are getting into MCO around 7 am, using ME, and staying at AKL. We figured we would have some time to go into one of the parks before having to head back to go to dinner and the party. :bride:

I would agree. Technically, you have enough time if everything runs as planned, but planning anything that is time specific for the first night is a potential risk. Just got back from London this summer, had theater tickets for the first night we arrived, and of course, the flight was postponed to the next day, and we lost the tickets. Don't want that to happen to you...I think you would feel better if you can do this on another night.

Chiming in, based on experience, that it's best NOT to book the big stuff for your arrival night. We did book, and make it to, Spirit of Aloha for our arrival night on our second visit, but all the rushing and stress (not to mention DS' disappointment at being rushed out of MK 'after we only just got here!') taught us that it wasn't worth it.

Also, and I'm not saying this to alarm anyone, just reporting my experience with flying in the past 6 to 12 months, is that flight delays and flight cancellations seem much, much more commonplace now than they ever did before. After -- what? -- about 35 years of flying experience under my belt, I would say that I have had more serious issues with travel and delays in the past year than ever before. Not to say that PLENTY of flights don't happen, delay-free, every single day -- just to say that you are always better off planning your "big ticket" events for a day or two after your arrival....

With weather being what it is up here in the northeast in early Dec, you could be fine, you could be delayed. IF you arrive on-time at 1:30, you should be at your resort by 3:00, latest. However, your bags most likely won't be there until after 5, if you are checking them and using the yellow tags. So, say you get to the Polynesian at 3:00, it could take you about 30 minutes, tops, to checkin, freshen up. Then, walk over to TTC to catch the Epcot monorail....another 10 mins. 15 mins to Epcot, walk over to LeCellier, another 15 or so minutes. You should be fine, if you don't dilly dally. However, if your flight is delayed, you could have a problem. I would try to change your plans until the following evening, it at all possible. That way, you won't be sitting on the plane, fretting about getting to CP..not a good way to start a vacation. I've done it, it isn't fun!!!

I am glad to see this post! I was just wondering if I should make ADR's for arrival day but seeing how we are flying out of the mid west in the winter I was worried about flight delays or cancellations. I thought a CS meal would work better for the first day.

Thanks for making me feel at ease about this :)
