Are all DVC cash ressies created equal?? Week day/Weekend

I was wondering if the price is higher for weekends on cash vs. week days on cash? Also, are there some cash ressies that are discounted for DVC and some that are not? Are weekend cash ressies a better deal than splurging points for the weekends? For those of you have done these I would like some advice. Thanks.

The DVC cash ressie discount is 25% off the regular price of a room. That would be the price charged or quoted by CRO to Disney guests in general, which does not have different niightly rates for weekends and weekdays. Also, the discount cannot be mixed with another discount -- for example, if Disney has some special discount going on for reserving the rooms you don't get 25% off that special, already discounted, price, but instead off the regular price. Is it better than using points? You have an issue as to whether it will be available; for example, you might want to go for a week and reserve 5 nights with points and two with cash but there is no guarantee there will be a cash ressie available just because you can get the other nights on points. One could go through a rental value of points/cash cost of room comparison and come to some conclusion that using points may cost more (or less) than using cash, but that really is not an adequate comparison unless you are someone who rents. The more pertinent issue is whether you want to save the points, and use them later for weekdays, which weighs in favor of using cash, and whether you even want to spend cash (many members would rather not if they can use points), which weighs against it.

Thanks for clarifying that for me. :goodvibes I am excited...I was able to get a cash ressie at OKW for a 2br with the discount. So instead of arriving on Sat. July 19th we are now arriving on Friday the 18th. She linked our ressie. I was quite surprised at the price....thought it was a great deal. I will pay 472.50 plus tax for that Friday night. I am still paying one weekend night with points that next night, but the rest of our trip are all week days at OKW and week days at BCV. Thanks again.

Just wondering, if you do a cash reservation with the DVC discount, do you call DVC member services? How does that work?

For the DVC Discount, the cash room has to be booked throguh Memeber Services, not CRO. The discount isn't always available.

Also, the cash ressie is based on the seasonal rates for resorts. For ex. I had inquired about a cash ressie on July 17th and actually booked a 2br. at OKW on cash for 472.50 then I decided to make changes to our trip and cancelled that and booked July 25th and 26th and the rate went down to 397.50 starting July 20th.
