Are all Borders bookstores like this?

Love Borders and Barnes and Noble. I find both places having very knowledgeable employees. How do they do that? lol!

Or you can order from amazon. It is a nice bookstore, but I wouldn't make a trip to go to Borders or Barnes & Noble anymore than I'd make a trip to go to Olive Garden, KWIM?

CB I can't say that I'm with you on this one. Can I order an Italian dinner from Amazon? Seriously, dh and I had dinner at the one by us last Saturday and we had excellent food and service.

I think these places (restaurants, bookstores, clothing stores, etc.) are only as good as the management and they are usually only as good as the clientele they service. If you go from store-to-store/neighborhood-to-neighborhood, you can see differences -- subtle or drastic. To answer the OP question, there probably is not one definitive answer for Borders or any place else. They should each be a reflection of the management and the personnel they hire. Similar concept, unique delivery. Aren't we all a little interestingly different -- So why not where we shop and eat?

I went to the Lake Grove one this past Saturday and could not believe how long the line was. It went all the way to the restrooms and was wrapped through book shelves like a maze. I thought I would be there for hours, but surprisingly it only took about 25 minutes to get to through!

Wow! That is long. The only long line I had seen at Borders was when the Harry Potter book "The Order of the Phoenix" was released at midnight.

The Borders in Lake Grove is nice. DH and I always go to the movie theater there and will sometimes stop in at Borders before heading to see a movie.

The one thing I like about Borders is that it reminds me of a library setting. By that I mean everyone is quiet and you will see people actually reading some of the books and relaxing. I also like the fact that they have a small cafe area. Being in Borders is just so peaceful.

Edited: Well, based on what both you and Forevryoung have observed, I think I'll wait a little bit before going to the one here in Bohemia.
