Hi

Silly ?s

We have stayed 6 times in the past 4 years at BWV and each time when we had a 2 bdrm it was a lock off - so I am wondering if all 2 bdrms at BWV are lock offs?

Thanks

Yes, they are all lock offs! That is our one and only "problem" with BWV, sigh!

Yes all of the 2BR villas at BWV are lockoffs. There are no dedicated 2BR villas at BWV.

Thanks for the quick response:goodvibes

Hi, this may be a question with an obvious answer, but is there an advantage to a 2BR dedicated over a 2BR lockoff? TIA!

Some people with small children (or even teens, LOL) like the dedicated units because there is only one door to the outside / hallway.

The lock offs have a separate entrance. So it would be more likely a parent in the Master would not hear or know if the separate entrance was used during the night. Kind of scary if you have young ones by themselves in the studio portionof the unit.

Also, believe most of the dedicated 2 bedrooms have two beds in the second bedroom (rather than a bed and a sleep sofa). BCV has both configuarations and the dedicated with 2 queens in the second bedroom can be difficult to get without calling right at the 11 month window.

Some like the lock offs if they are sharing a 2 bedorom with guests who are not arriving or departing at the same time. If you are lucky, you can sometimes just add the studio or drop the studio portion to accomodate guests who are not on the same schedule as you are - saves moving.

For most of us, lock off or dedicated doesn't matter much.

For us, the disappointment with the lock-offs is the fact that there are only 2"real" beds in the 2 bedroom at BWV...and the children, I know our DGC (aged 2,3 and 4) aren't really old enough to realize that sneaking out is dangerous, and yet they are old/tall enough to reach the locks. Happily, VWL has lots of dedicated 2 bedrooms for when we take that part of our family.

Obviously it was a problem for enough members to never build another with the same layout. All that followed included some dedicated 2 bedrooms, and of course you have the famous screw up at BCV where they did not design the rooms to accommidate the extra bed and ended up with only 25 units with 2 queens which are highly desired.

It is the main reason we never stay at BW and very seldom at BCV as we need the 2 beds in the second bedroom. I am glad to know all future DVC will have them.

I think the BCV situation is really a shame. To us, having that extra bed trumps SAB! We can always go to a waterpark, but a good nights sleep is priceless!
