I am wondering if adr's are easier to change once you arrive. I did make my adr's but have tried to make some changes with no success. It seems like early December is going to be alot busier than I had expected.
Thanks!!!!
(not to scream, but..) NO!! In fact you may find it IMPOSSIBLE to make ADRs once you are there. If you need to make changes, start trying now. Good luck.
I have to disagree with PP. It's not impossible to make or change ADRs once you get to Disney. Are you likely to get any of the DIS-hoopla locations, probably not, but there are many places that will be able to take you. Visit your concierge, guest services in the park, and the restaurants themselves. Look for off-hour times (try eating a really late lunch and follow up with a completely decadent desert for "dinner" much later).
As for whether it's going to be crowded in early December, I think it will be more crowded than it used to be. But the hardest part about this particular crowd is that there will be a way higher percentage of them that are veterans that know the "tricks." But honestly, you're going to be in Disney! Focus on all the cool things that you get to see and do, and don't give the "misses" a second thought.
We had no problem switching our ADRs when we were there in October. But the restaurants I wanted to switch or try were at our resort so I'm not sure if the resorts hold a few times for the guests staying there. Lets see I switched Ohana's character breakfast from a Saturday to a Thursday because we changed our itinerary around. And we got an earlier time (8:00)which worked out great. That night we at Kona Cafe (I made this one 180 days out) and then we decided we'd like to try the breakfast there on Saturday morning and we got in no problem for 8:30 which was perfect timing for our itinerary.
So yes I'd say its possible but I would definitely book what you think you want before your trip (180 days out if possible) and then if you need to switch while you're there try to. It all depends on when you're going and what restaurant you're trying to get. People are always cancelling so I say give it a try if you think you need to. Good luck and have fun.
I agree w/PP - go to the concierge desk at your resort - they seemed to be more helpful. I tried calling the dining line and it could have been the CM but no luck at all but then I went to the concierge desk and I had no problem. I can't remember for which change but anyways definitely go to the concierge desk.
I also have to agree that it can be done. Like the others have said if your open to off times it really opens it up. We have called Disney dining from our room the day of and have gotten into several hard places like 50's and LeCellier. As long as your flexible it can be done. We only go in December and it has gotten harder to get the ADR's you want but not impossible.
Thanks for the great responses. I will check with the conceirge when I check in .I do have some really good ADR's but I just wanted to make a couple of changes but if I can't I will be happy with what I have.
Thanks again!!!!!!
