Hi- We are planning a trip down in Dec. We were thinking about driving to save $, and then flying our 2 oldest dd's back a few days early so they won't miss too much school.

I just priced out some one-way tix and they are about $100 more than RT. Are there any tricks or tips to get these prices down? Thanks alot. :)

Depends.

SW will sell one ways at a good price, but lots of tickets require a round trip to get the best deal. Sometimes it is cheaper just to throw away the return.

I'm kind of limited as far as airlines because I need my local airport -so I'm unable to use SW.

I guess I will probably have to buy the RT tix and not use the return.

thanks

I book one ways all the time due to changing work schedule. Often two one-ways is cheaper or equal to a round trip, based on my needs (but I often book less than 14 days before departure)

Oddly, aircanada.com one-ways on United metal are often cheaper than united.com one-ways or round trip purchases....

It's best to try a few options and see what prices out. I suggest using travelocity.com as a start, then heading to the individual airline sites.....
