We are staying at All Star Movies for our trip. I was thinking my boys would have fun playing in the arcade on our resort day. How much money do you think I should plan on for about an hour at the arcade for an 11yr and 13yr? How much does each game cost about?

Depends what types of games they play. Most games are $1-$5. I think that translates to 50-250 game points each if I remember correctly. I would go with the $20 or $25 reloadable arcade card, each of those comes with bonus points.

$20 = 1000 Play Points + 250 Bonus Points
$25 = 1250 Play Points + 750 Bonus Points

Does anyone know if the games are free during the arcade tournament at Allstars? When we were last there 5 years ago, the games were free during some sessions run by the cast members, I am wondering if the arcade tournament are like that.

I updated this somewhere (I think under all-star music), the games are free during the arcade tournament, but it’s a type of competition. The people participating choose what games they will compete in, and everyone plays that game competing. The time we did it, it was just our family so we had a great time choosing the games we liked to play against each other. So it’s not all games, and it’s not all people. It’s just the people who turn up for the tournament and join in and the games they choose to play.
Highly recommend if you have teens or older kids, or a family who enjoy playing the games.

That is good to know that it's only select people & games!! I thought it might be a free for all
Thank you.

It doesn't happen often, but sometimes a Resort will have one hour of free play one day a week.

And currently Space Invaders at Pop Century is on free play all the time.

To me,the Arcades haven't been the same since Disney ended Prize Redemption.

There was a lot more fun and "energy" in the Arcades then IMO.
