Arabian Nights, Yay or Nay

I am debating whether to buy tickets for this, am wondering if the food is good or not. The regular price is $59 but I found it on www.ticketmania.com for $23.

We got the same deal last year and went. Kids were totally bored as were we. The arena is so large that the horses tend to be small out there. Was no real story line. We said we would have rather just gone to dinner somewhere with good food.

We went a few years ago, and the food was HORRIBLE. Also, if anyone in your group has any type of airborne allergies or asthma, this may not be the best place to take them. My husband and son both had trouble breathing in that environment. But if you like eating crappy food in a barn atmosphere then by all means go for it. This is only my personal opinion, many, many people really like it.

The food is not good.. we LOVE the show and go every year.
We upgrade to VIP seats and always request J section. We have always been first row dead center. With our discount we usually end up paying $63 for me and my daughter.

if you are in the first few rows - you will love it. further back - not so much.

the food was okay - just don't order the chicken (it was horrible) - but my steak was okay.

we got there early (the person who make the reservation for us - say to get their early)

but I think that was before VIP.

We have do it a couple of years ago all I can say is don´t go, the food is very very bad and cold, and the show is always the same, horses and horses and horses, after 50 minutes we were bored and not even eat all the food and go away (and others was doing the same) after that we go to Downtown Disney and eat a sundae at Ghirardelli and my wife said I prefer to stay here and is free and not inside Arabian Nigths paying for a bad food and only to see horses.

The person over the phone talked about getting there early and that there was some pershow with a Magician. The show says it starts at 6:00 but they guy told me to get there at 4:30 - quite a long time to wait!

So is the preshow any good?

Does the time you arrive determine where you sit or is it just a free for all when they open the doors?

My SIL just got back yesterday, she said that people with babies/small kids were seated first. She noticed that the ones with a stroller were seated first so that they could put the strollers in a designated spot.
I will ask her about the preshow...

The "preshow" is for VIP tickets only, which is a $15 upgrade (unless they recently changed it). You go on a separate line and you are let in about 4:45 or so (for the 6:00 show).
You are assigned seats. When I call for our upgrade I request the section I want.
The preshows we've been to never had a magician. It's always a bellydancer. Tastefull enough.. the kids like it and join in too. You get a coupon for a free drink. And you get your picture taken. They will come around during the show sometime to show the pics to you and try to get you to buy a package.
You then go in to the stalls where they keep the horses, to see them. And then they take the horses into the arena part where you get to pet them, and take pics with both the horses and the actors. These are pics for you to take, they don't take them. The whole pre-show thing is about an hour.

Then they start letting everyone else in. I would be seated by then because people try to take your seat! Your designation is like J1 (section J 1st row)... so that whole row is up for grabs, first come first serve type thing for the row and section. People do try to sit in the first row even though they're ticket is not for that row. We always take the end seats.

The show is slightly different everytime we go. We always enjoy it! As one poster said.. horses, and horses, and horses... but uhhh.. it's a horse show! If you don't like horses, maybe you'd better skip it..lol.

Our fave part is probably not the actual storyline part, but the end when they let all the horses run around and play! It's beautiful!

Yay, for us. I think it truly depends if you enjoy horses. In our case, it was my horse CRAZED daughter and DGD. I also really love them so I thought the show was beautiful. We also enjoyed visiting with the stalled horses before the show. The storyline? Didn't really get it. The food? Not so great. But, the beauty of the animals was something. They are very well trained and something to watch. At the end of the show, they take all the tack off the horses and let them run around free and play in the arena. The riders (performers) sit off to the side and answer questions for the kids. It was a fun ending, so don't run off because this is a good picture time!

We did Dolly's show the following year and didn't enjoy it. The food was good but the entertainment was way too hokey for us.

Yeah we have 7 people so we didn't feel like spending another $105 just for front row seats.

We love horses (we love the Lipinzanner show which in some ways is boring but not if you love horses.) I've been to see the horse show in Vienna and Spain. Anyway, we live in the country so if I want to go in a horse stall area and/or pet a horse I don't have to go far. BUT seeing horses perform is something all of us enjoy.

Maybe the "preshow" with the Magician the guy told me about (call was just 2 weeks ago) is to keep everyone else busy while the VIP people are doing their thing in the area.

The stuff at the end, getting to watch the horses run around. Is that only for the VIPs.

Also if anyone went to the show and didn't pay the extra for the VIP seating, etc let me know about entering the area.

We have somewhat younger kids maybe they'll let us in a bit in front.

Yes. Especially if you get tixs for $23. It is a great show and at the end you can pet some horses. Avoid the expensive pictures they take of you when you walk in.

Definitely NAY

The 'Show' is just a parade of different horses - no story line.

We were practically forced to have our photos taken at the entrance, so they could try to sell us the photos later.

Couldn't get to the bar because of the amount of people there, to get our free drink, the food was gross and I had a long brown hair in my dessert (my hair is short & blond) - despite repeated requests to the servers, I couldn't get the Floor Manager to come to our table to discuss the problem, I finally found him and explained (in a completely calm rational way) what had occurred, and he told me to **** off back to the UK (yes, really !) ,infront of a crowd of people ........I left in tears - not that he cared.

I followed up with a complaint when I got back and guess what ...I never heard a thing back from them.

If you want to see the complete opposite of Disney in terms of customer care & service, there's no better place.

Just a money making operating that couldn't give a fig about their customers IMO.

We just got back.
We skipped the preshow and arrived after they were seating people so it meant we were pretty far up. Hubby said he would NOT have liked to be right in the front, you got a much better view a bit up but had we come earlier we would have been a bit closer.

We LOVED the show, the riding skills and the horses were great. The kids (5 and 6) loved the story and it was not hard to follow. The adults thought the show was so great who cares about the story.

Food was nothing great but we eat enough to not go away hungry.
