Aquatica or DW Water Parks?

We have a 4 night Disney cruise scheduled for October. We're planning to spend one day at IOA because my husband really wants to check out Harry Potter .

We're thinking of going to Aquatica or Typhoon Lagoon the other day before we head home. Which is better? I've been to TL many times. My kids are 5, 6 and 11. They are all great swimmers.

Aquatica is a lot of fun. We've been there twice.

I am a big believer in new experiences, so if you have done Typhoon Lagoon several times, switch it up and visit Aquatica instead.

Aquatica is a wonderful park. We have been there three times....twice in August, once on Christmas Eve day (see the link in my signature for lots of photos). Roa's Rapids is a tubeless lazy river that is my favourite water feature ever.

Typhoon Lagoon is definitely better, but Aquatica probably has more for the younger kids. Typhoon Lagoon has better landscaping and lots of shade.

We get into Aquatica free because we have Platinum Busch passes.

It sounds like Aquatica is definitely a good choice - and something new we haven't tried!

We have regular BG passes so we can get tickets 50% off. You can't beat that!

Roas rapids is fantastic and your kids will love it. Aquatica is the only waterpark I've ever spent a full day in because you spend half your day just floating through Roas Rapids. I love the Wave pool at TL but Aquatica has a great relaxation option!

Aquatica is an awesome waterpark,given that you've never been there and have been several times to TL I don't know why it's even a choice.Aquatica has that Roa's Rapids fast lazy river that's like one of the coolest attractions at any waterpark,Aquatica's not as big but it has cool theming,the other slides are good and overall probably better than TL's and even has better shopping and dining options.I honestly don't have a favorite waterpark between Aquatica and the two Disney ones,they just have different attractions and atmosphere and are all worth doing,go try Aquatica.

Last trip we got Aquatica free with our Discovery Cove admission. Don't get me wrong, it was fun. However, there is very little thumbing (sp?). I felt like I could have been at any water park anywhere in the country. I really feel like the Disney parks are more of an "experience" I am assuming that Blizzard Beach will be closed because you didn't list that as an option. If not, would try that. I think now that Seaworld/discovery cove have discounted tickets for Aquatica that the park is busier than the disney ones.

I like TL and Aquatica but I think Aquatica has more slides and (as other have said) Roa's Rapids is the best water park attraction ever. No matter how many times we go around it my kids say "just one more time!" every single time. We usually spend several hours bobbing around in that one attraction. And Aquatica does have 2 wave pools which are very good, just not quite as awesome as the one at TL.

I don't know why people say it doesn't have theming, it has very pronounced "Down Under" theming which I think is really fun.

I LOVE the Commerson's Dolphins at Aquatica!!!! I could watch these beautiful dolphins for HOURS! They are black and white and I believe the only place they are found in the USA is at Aquatica.

Aquatica has the Down Under theme. The Roa Rapids - AWESOME! I could spend hours on that ride. Aquatica is the cleanest waterpark I have even been to. Something for all ages.

I have been to both Disney water parks. They are nice, too. Can't go wrong with any water park.

Depending on the time of year your are travelling, the ground will not only be hot at Aquatica....it will be hot EVERYWHERE. Water shoes are highly recommended .
