Hi everyone! My family is leaving for Dis in 2 weeks and we also plan to purchase Sea World/Aquatica tickets. I have some questions:

- Is the official web site the cheapest way to get a combo ticket to these 2 parks?

- Anyone out there have any photos of Aquatica attractions? What is your opinion of the park - especially as compared to Typhoon Lagoon? (we can't do both and are leaning toward Aquatica because other family members meeting us there are insisting on Sea World, so it will most likely be much cheaper to go with Aquatica because of the dual ticket.

Thanks for any input! :cutie:

Go to tripadvisor and search on Aquatica...

Click to expand the traveler reviews, and you will see that "Traveler Photos" will pop up at the top of the page... many traveler photos are posted.

I have to say that I was NOT impressed with the reviews. A lot of disappointed people who had higher expectations of Aquatica.

To be honest, we are now considering Typhoon Lagoon instead.

Good luck with your planning, and have a great trip!!!

We just went to Aquatica last month. We thought it was great! We haven't been to Typhoon Lagoon in about 8 years, so it would be unfair for me to compare.

As with any water park, you must get there early to have any chance of not waiting in huge lines for the slides. Aquatica does stop letting people into the park when they reach capapcity, which I thought was a good thing. When we were there the gates closed at about 1:00pm and then re-opened at 4:00ish, once some people had left.

As far as the slides there was nothing I would call spectacular but they were alot of fun. Our family loves the new twist on the lazy river , which is the fast moving river. They call it Roa's Rapids. Our plan was get there at park opening, do the slides and then spend the rest of the time in the River or Wave pool. The parking area is close enough to pack your lunch and head out to the car for lunch. We usually left by about 3:00 and then headed over to Sea World for the evening.

Thanks for the info! I think Roa might be like something we have here closer to home at Water Country (Williamsburg) - it is our family's favorite ride  because there is no waiting and it moves fast...one of the main reasons that I would choose Aquatica (besides the Sea World add-on).

Appreciate your comments - any others would be welcome, too! :thumbsup2

1st off, aquatica is OKAY. nothing major. it is smaller than typhoon lagoon if you have been there, and that is pretty small. i was disappointed with aquatica..we have year passes to busch gardens and seaworld and adventure island and so we added aquatica. there are only about 5 rides and there is no lazy river.. its so small . blah. they could have done way better, but they knew they didnt have to. because people will spend money to get in because its new

Ouch! That doesn't sound promising! I am starting to second guess my plan! Given that we are going in August and my kids love water, I want to do a waterpark that we will enjoy. But I really don't like standing in long lines for slides...how are Aquatica's wave pools (are both exactly the same? I have gone to the website, but I would like to hear from live people) And what about Wet n Wild?

wow.. lol wet n wild is horrible. dont go there lol.

i mean aquatica is nice inside, but since there are only about 5 rides, we stayed in line for about 45 min for each ride about. theres just not alot of things to do they could have made it a little bigger so people wouldnt be waiting forever for rides. but its really pretty and colorful inside :woohoo:

lol/ your kids will like it. they have the kids area. its just diappointing, they should have spent a little more money are the waterpark  lol

ohh the wave pools are basically the same. one side the waves are wavey-er and the other side they are less wavey for little kids.

If you have not.. check out that link I gave above...

Lots of reviews, photos, and info...

Then make the decision that is best for your group. ;)

For me, it is definitely Typhoon Lagoon.
The tropical theming, more shade, etc... are more my style! (not just comparing extreme slides...)

That Raging River at Aquatica sounds GREAT!!! But, that one thing is just not enough to sway my vote. Of course, the wave pool at TL is unmatched.

I am sure that you will have a wonderful time wherever you go!!!

aquatica aint that good its okay but theres not tht much there.i waitin nearly a hour 4 the dolphin flumes and the water got in my eyes so i coulnt see n e thin was disappointed :sad2: only stayed there bout 2 hours

OK -so I did the deed - bought Aquatica/Sea World tix...:cool1: I know I would have loved Typhoon Lagoon :sad2: (esp. after reading these posts), but we have to do Sea World (other family members insist) and it is just easier/better value for us to do the 2 week, 2 park pass than to buy single day Sea World tix and then Typhoon Lagoon as well. I must sound like a whiner - don't mean to, I am really happy to be having such a "dilemma"! :cloud9:

I am surprised about the Wet n Wild comment - is it too much "concrete" that turned you off? The map seems to give the impression that there are lots of slides/attractions....

BTW - Natalie, my daughter's name is Nathalie! And our "family" (the ones that want to do Sea World, I mean) are from the UK!!!! :upsidedow

If you're talking about Hubba Hubba Highway, that's exactly what it's like. We love that one too as we go to Williamsburg much more often than Orlando. We found ourselves calling Roa's Rapids, Hubba Hubba.

Do your kids like H2O UFO? If they do, they will love the huge kids play area. It is similar to the one at Great Wolf Lodge but much, much larger.

I think you'll be happy with your choice. I think no matter how big they build a waterpark, there will always be lines. It's just the nature of the beast. As I said earlier, go in the morning, spend a few hours and then head to SeaWorld

Yes - hubba hubba is the one! :thumbsup2 Who wants to walk around on hot pavement and climb a hundred stairs when it is 95 degrees and humid?! We love just doing laps on the highway :goodvibes ...so I am now going to start psyching myself up for the Aquatica/Sea World experience :cool1:
Thanks again for your input!

I don't know how old your kids are but mine 3,6,and8 love Wet and Wild. They are tall enough to ride just about everything. It keeps us all happy for a day or two. We are a water park loving family.
