How exactly would you describe the Aquaduck on the Disney Dream? Is it more like a water slide, or more like a roller coaster? My wife and I both love water slides, but don't like roller coasters (my wife won't even try anything that even vaguely resembles a roller coaster), so I wonder if it's something we'd like. Or if I'd have any chance of being able to convince my wife to give it a try. How many people do you need in the raft to go on it?

Also, does the Dream have any other water slides that adults can use?

Thanks.

Thanks. Hopefully I can convince my wife to give it a try.

I should also ask, how long is the wait to go on it? Is it almost always open?

Any answers to my other questions?

Thanks.

Water Slide - Mild, tube-riding waterslide with 2 dips and hills and a great view of the boat. I would not call it thrilling, but it's fun.

1 or 2 in the raft.

The other waterslide is for kids 4-14.

There are waterslides on castaway cay at Pelican Plunge.

They call it a water roller coaster because at one point you go down hill a little then the water pushes you up hill. It's a lot of fun, but not wild like a roller coaster. Awesome views from the ship!

I think of it as a lazy river in a tube on an inflatable raft. :)

I definitely would not consider it a "coaster" of any kind. More like a mild ride at a water park on a raft. I consider the slides at Pelican Plunge more of a "thrill" ride than the Aquaduck. Lots of fun though. :thumbsup2

My 79 year old Mom was on board with us in August. She said that there was no way that she couldn't NOT try the Aquaduck. so we picked a time later in the afternoon when it wasn't busy, and the sun wasn't beating down on the stairs. She took her time going up, and after she got to the bottom, she said "so we're going AGAIN, right?" She LOVED it and must have ridden it more than a dozen times that week. :thumbsup2

It's an awesome waterslide ! I think your wife will regret it if she doesn't at least try it once. Good luck with the convincing ! :goodvibes

I am with your wife. I ride roller coasters only to prove to my kids that it's not a big deal, but I don't like them at all.

The Aquaduck was a slide. If you've ever been to Typhoon Lagoon it's very much like the Crush'n Gusher but better because you're on a cruise ship.

There are a bunch of videos on youtube where the riders filmed the ride. While I have yet to be on it myself, I think those videos are probably a pretty fair representation of what to expect.

Same here....and lots of fun. :)

I'm a ride chicken. Big thunder mountain gives me a thrill. :scared1: I loved the aqua duck..the only bad part is climbing up the stairs...but honestly they weren't a huge deal. It's loads of fun! Go early to avoid long lines.:thumbsup2

One night we rode right after late dining about 945pm. Walked right on. Very nice to ride it at night with the ship lights on!

Thanks. How long is a typical wait? What hours is it usually open? Also, I've heard that it has a "vertical" start. Is that true? Thanks.

I've never been but the videos sure don't show a vertical start. You are probably thinking of the AquaDunk on the Magic which starts out vertical and the floor drops out. The AquaDuck is mostly horizontal with a loop over the water and a couple little dips. Check out Youtube, there are plenty of videos where you can see the whole thing.

No vertical start. Definitely a mild but fun ride! I think it's open til 10pm

Thanks. How long is the wait usually? (a lot of people say "long", but that's a relative term). Is it open both sea days and port days? Thanks.

We rode it twice. Both on off times. During the morning of a sea day maybe 3 minute wait. Walked right on at night. Afternoons on sea days are the worst. I think they were waiting 20-30 minutes.
Yes it is open all days.

We just got off the Dream today :(

I'm a chicken & don't do any thrill rides ever. Even The Barnstormer is too much for me lol
My son wanted to go on the Aquaduck & my DH & DD didn't want to try it so I gave it a try. I was nervous because I hate anything with "drops". This had 2 mini ones & moves very fast for the first part of the slide. It was tons of fun & we had a great time on it! After the fast part it slowed down & I got to enjoy the view for a few seconds. It was awesome! We rode it on our Castaway Cay day at around 4pm. We had a 10 min wait.
