Aquaduck 52 inch size

OK - I thought when Kevin said 52 inches it was cirumference.

Still feels snug to me :thumbsup2

It might feel snug to both you and Kevin, but likely more so for your height than weight. I know Kevin's mentioned before that he doesn't like Space Mountain because of some of the low hanging bars, I'm guessing at 52 inches (which is almost 4.5 feet) there will be maybe a foot of clearance between your heads and the top of the tube if you sit upright, give or take a few inches depending how much the bottom of raft adds to your height. 52 inches is fairly typical for rides of this type, so I wouldn't expect bigger guests to have any harder of a time riding it than they would similar enclosed rides at either of Disney's water parks.

Oh and as for the concern/joke that someone of size might cause "blockage" for the tube, it's been my experience that the heavier you are, the faster you go so it's far more likely that they'd have to send an adult to dislodge a kid than the other way around. ;)

Of course an engineer would simply design the thing so that the top end is smaller so that if you fit in at all, you'll go all the way through. popcorn::

Yeah, I think I actually yelled out loud, "that's over 4 feet wide!!!" So glad I have an office with walls now and not the cube in front of my boss... ;)

Glad you pointed this out- I was thinking the same thing. It should be sized similar to most of the slides at the water parks, so I doubt the "fat patrol" will be greasing people up on line ;)

I was just going to post this same thing. Just listened to the podcast and I was going CRAZY with how long this discussion went with incorrect information! The circumference of that tube will be in the neighborhood of 13 FEET around!

Let's remember our basic math:

Circumference= Pi (3.14) x Diameter (52" for Aquaduck)

The weight limit is due to the inflatable tube likely popping if you go over the upper limit. It has nothing to do with the slide structure. Those things are tested with HUGE amounts of weight stress on them.

What's the weight limit?

Folks...the information I read said a 52 inch opening.

Being 6'5" and chubby....this didnt sound exceedingly big to me.

I apologize for any inconvenience.

Bt the way.....no matter how loud you scream at your iPod.....we cant hear you. ;)

P.S......I still aint riding it.

You'll never convince some people of that! :rotfl:

By the way, ABD has been telling *us* that they're going to announce the DCL/ABD add-ons in November. Who knows?

I just unpacked the Crisco from my suitcase.

Weight limit...350? Right? I assume that's total combined weight, for either one or two riders. That's pretty standard among waterslides that hold two people in an innertube.

Kevin, not trying to bash or anything. My annoyance was aimed more at the diatribe that followed your information, because everyone ELSE took it to mean "52 inches around", which would just be ridiculous for a waterslide. :rotfl:

The entire discussion reminded me of the John Pinette waterslide skit from 1998, which they mentioned on the next show. He's way too funny.

It would be roughly 16½" across. I'm not sure how many folks (over or 48" tall) would be able to squeeze down a tube that small.
Disney doesn't own the rights to Lassie, so who would go tell momma that Timmy was stuck in the well?
I thought it was referencing a 52" circumference as well. Then I was like, how the heck are people gonna sit on a tube and go down the slide that small? Math is one of those things where you slip on a single word and it changes everything.

To John and Pete,

I went on the NCL Epic this past summer, they had an enclosed water slide like the Aquaduck. We had plenty of large folks getting on those slides with out any problems. I would say give the Aquaduck a try!:thumbsup2

I was friggin laughing so hard today stuck in traffic listening to the "tube clog" part, people thought I was crazy!:lmao:

I'm with you Kevin I'm 6'4 250 lbs, I broke my recliner the other day shifting my body there is no way I am about to risk stepping foot onto a water slide :goodvibes

.....especially an elevated water slide in a clear plastic tube that zips off the side of the boat and over open water for a short time.

There is something wrong with every word in that last "non-sentence".

This reminds me of the old Cyclone racer that was at the Pike in Long Beach. It was a massive wooden coaster that stuck out off the beach on pilings, over the ocean. When I was a kid, I really, really wanted to ride it, but my parents refused to let me. Turns out they were right, when one of the cars of the roller coaster, while running the curve out over the ocean, kept going, *into* the ocean. The Cyclone was shut down, and torn down a while later. The whole Pike area, which was *the* place to be before Disneyland opened, fell into ruin, and was eventually torn down.
