  • AquaDuck is designed for adults and children at least 42" or taller
  • Single riders must be at least 54" or taller
  • Children under 7 must ride with someone 14 years of age or older, provided the child is at least 42" tall
  • No snorkel equipment or swim goggles are allowed in the pool

So, my question is:
My 7 year old that is approx 47 inches tall, can he ride with his 9yr old brother or does he have to ride with an adult? I'm confused...

So your child is not under 7 so point three doesn't apply.

He is above 42" so he can ride

He can't ride alone because he isn't tall enough ( this is because disney is afraid he won't be heavy enough, single riders that were too light were getting stuck before this policy was made because if your not heavy enough the tube doesn't go fast enough to get to each "checkpoint" in the ride in time, then the ride shuts down.)

So your 7 year old needs to be with someone else that is also over 42" and over 7 (so your 9 year old qualifies)

As stated above the no single rider thing is for weight. two 7 years olds that are 42" could go together and be fine, they just can't go alone.

Does anyone know how strict they are on the 42" requirement? My son measured 42" tonight at a carnival, but I don't know how accurate the carnival's measurement technique is. I think he hit 42" because his hair was kind of sticking up. Hopefully he'll keep shooting up for the next month before we go, then he'll leave no doubts!

Pretty strict. It's a liability issue. And DCL doesn't want any lawsuits. Especially if they "look the other way" on a restriction.

If your kids are on the thin side, don't have them ride together. Those inner tubes require quite a lot of weight to keep them moving through the tube. It gets stuck mid ride often. It's almost always kids in the tubes when that happens. Mine would probably panic in that situation.

Very strict about the 42". They make kids take off flip flops and check them each time they ride even after they get the color coded wristband that's says they're ok to ride with someone

Agree with the PP. Our kids were measured every time we rode, even though they already had the wristband indicating they had already been cleared to ride.
A kid riding solo got stuck during pirate night (he was a skinny teenager). It gave us all something to watch while we waited for the show!

Thanks! I guess it doesn't really matter, either he'll be tall enough or he won't. If he's not 42" at this point, he's just barely under, so I hope he'll make the cut. Kids have to be 42" to ride on the water slides at our local pool, so I'll check him against that measurement when we go for his swim lesson. And you never know, maybe it'll give me a good way to convince him to eat a month's worth of veggies so he'll grow up big and tall!

Do these height requirements apply for the water slide on the Wonder as well? I'm a newbie.

Welcome to cruising!

No, this thread is asking about the AquaDuck which is a water coaster on the Dream and Fantasy. Mickey's Pool Slide on the Wonder is different. The website indicates: to use the [Mickey] slide, children must be between the ages of 4 and 14, with a minimum height of 38 inches and a maximum height of 64 inches.

Enjoy your cruise!

ok, so I am concerned about this getting stuck, when I heard a skinny teenager got stuck. My daughter is 11, 4'10, so plenty tall enough, but weighs 61 pounds. Very, very thin. she has a 14 year old, thin, sister. Too avoid gettin stuck should she ride alone, with her sister, or me ( I'm average but definetely enough to weigh it down), but I was only going to ride a few times. Dont want to hold up the line or have her stress out on being stuck!

There are times when they don't allow anyone to ride alone due to the wind conditions. This even applies to adults.

Can kids shorter then that ride in a parents lap. my youngest is 37 inchs

No. Again, the restrictions are:
  • AquaDuck is designed for adults and children at least 42" or taller
  • Single riders must be at least 54" or taller
  • Children under 7 must ride with someone 14 years of age or older, provided the child is at least 42" tall
No one can ride (single or double) unless they are at least 42" tall.

Can my two 7 year olds ride together without an adult (they are over 42 inches tall)?
Yes, the they can ride together, however, please heed the advice about getting stuck. Saw it a few times myself. I would ask the lifeguard for advice. If each 7-year old can ride with an adult that's better.
