Can anyone tell where you actually board the tubes? I want to try it at least once, but my knees are horrible. I'm hoping that you don't have to climb a bunch of stairs to get onto it. :goodvibes

The ride starts at the top of the aft funnel. See the picture below and note where the tube exits the funnel at the very top. I assume you take stairs up there, since I doubt they want wet people on elevators. On the Good Morning America coverage, it was pretty cool to see that you get on the tube and then a moving platform moves you to the start of the slide.

I've seen some really cool pictures lately of the Dream at night with the AquaDuck all lit up. Do you think they will have it running at night?

I won't be riding the Duck, because I won't be abe to get OUT of the raft with my wonky hip and knees. I can no longer do a graceful 'dismount'. :lmao:

ibouncetoo-- I say go for it anyway!!! Getting in and out is never pretty but it would be worth the experience just once!!! :cool1:

ITA!! Grace is definitely not my middle name but I plan on giving it a go.

I've been wondering where the ride ends, and I just realized it ends by the same funnel, but at the bottom. If you look at the bottom of the funnel in this picture, you will see the orange lazy river exit area that we saw the people getting out from on the you tube videos. I guess that makes sense, if they need to get the rafts back up to the top of the funnel. Would make it easier, but I hadn't quite worked it out before now.

There are stairs in that image -- look at where the tube makes its first dip after the over ocean move -- there's a stairway there.

Sweet! It looks like a 2 person if you wish! Dd and I love these, getting out is NOT pretty but I am riding! They can load out pretty fast. I am sure like at the water parks there is a sensor that tells the Cm when it is safe to send the next tube down.

LOL...my "dismount" is more like a roll-out-and-have-someone-help-me-up mount. Now that's poetry in motion!! Not going to keep me from trying it at least one time though!! Would say nobody I know will see me, but I can't...if I'm doing something embarrasing 500 miles away in the most obscure place, I'd run into someone I know.

Does anyone know if there will be weight height or age limits on the Aqua Duck

hoping that they have this going even on island days so i can try it AND hide my unsightly dismount....:rotfl2:. if no one is around, it didn't happen right?

I'm not even sure I'd make it up the stairs, and with my bad knees and back, my doctor would probably kill me if he knew I was even thinking about it.....but if they're running it on a port day when there aren't many people around, you can bet I'm going to try!
It will probably take at least my husband to get me up and out, though.:guilty:

One of the on-line videos I saw had a Disney official saying that they expect to be able to accomodate approximately 300 people per hour on the Aquaduck which would work out to one raft every twenty to thirty seconds.

Does it look like they'll have a conveyance to bring the rafts back up to the top, or will the riders need to lug them up the stairs with them?
